Greg stood in the long line of troops, a bit nervous about their next testing. He had never used the vertical maneuvering equipment before let alone seen it up close. His knees shake as they get closer to his name, each time his heart sinking a bit more. 'Stop being a baby! You can do this!' He says as his name is called. He walks up to the Sargent ready to be tested. As his harness is hooked to the pulley he takes a deep breath letting it out only when he laughed at how easy it was to stay upright. He walks back to his place in line with a light heart and a huge smile on his face.

(They are seeing if they can stay upright in the harnesses.you can have your characters there are were ever! :) )

(Alex is now going into the Garrison because I thought it would be better if he was in the same corps as his brother.)

Caelan watches the others trying out the gear. She couldn't wait to try it herself. She has seen survey corps in action, and she always loved the way they flew through the air with such ease. When the guard called her name, she strode up to the gear, and tensed, preparing to be lifted off the ground. When her feet leave the ground, she tips forward for a second, before righting herself with ease. It only took her a few seconds to get used to the feeling of the harness. After that, it was easy to stay upright. She casually walks back to the line, grinning.

Alex stands near the back of the line, trying to learn how to balance in the gear from watching the others try. He wasn't too excited about the gear, but he knew it was necessary to fight the titans. When it's his turn, he walks up to the harness. When it hoists him off the ground, he tips forward like the girl before him. He leans backward, but he leaned back too far, and almost tipped over the way. After a bit more tipping, he finally righted himself, his face burning. Most of the others had done it with such ease. 'At least you didn't completely flip over.' he tells himself. Now he was sitting in the harness, far from comfortable, but at least he was relatively still. He stalks back to the line, his hands shoved deep into his pockets. He turns to watch his brother do it, hoping he had better luck.

Max, giggles slightly when his brother tipped around. It was so unlike his usually stoic, composed brother to be clumsy. He is glad his brother was able to right himself though. It also makes him a bit nervous. He steps cautiously up towards the gear. He stands nervously, pushing his glasses back up his nose. When the pulley yanks him up, he throws his arms out for balance, keeping himself from tipping like Alex. After a bit, he let his arms drop to his sides, glad it had been easier than it looked. He steps back to the line, elbowing his brother, and grinning teasingly at him. He receives a half-hearted glare in return.

Salem watched the boy who had tipped all over the place, making mental notes about what not to do. When it was her turn, she stepped up to the harness, and stood with her knees slightly bent. She kept her back straight as she was lifted off the ground. Using the mental notes she had made in her head, it was easy for her to keep relatively upright. She walked back to the line, looking at the ground.

Steve walks from his place in line up to the pulley. As his harness is clipped on he can't help but look through the crowd for Harrison. The man was in the front of the line watching without expression. Was he angry? Steve had no time to think as he was lifted from the ground. At first it was fine, then he tipped forward. Unable to catch himself his face hit the ground hard, causing him to bit his tongue all the way through. He's quickly lowered onto his hands and knees his mouth bleeding heavily. As he stands he looks down to hide his expression and to hide his face from Harrison. "Sir may I try again?" He asks spitting blood everytime he talked. Again he is lifted this time he was able to keep up right tipping some back an forth. As he goes to his place in line he can't help but catch a glimpse of Harrison face which still held no emotion. He takes his spot near Greg and Cealan.

"You did good for as young as you are." Greg whispers to the upset boy hoping Cealan will also give some compliments to the boy.

Cealan turns to look at the two boys next to her. "Yeah, those things are pretty tricky to get used to. You have to re-orientate your whole balance. It's cool you did it the second time!" she says, grinning at the boy. She sees one of generals glaring at her, and she smiles sheepishly.

Alex sighs, bored of standing around. He turns to his brother to talk to him, but he sees a girl getting glared at for talking, so he closes his mouth and turns around.

Greg leans down to Steve's ear. "I'm proud of you for standing up after the fall, you showed that you have what it takes to be a soldier." Greg stands again smiling down at Steve since the boy was so much shorter than himself.

Steve smiles blood running down his face dripping onto the ground. "Thanks." He spits causing blood to splatter on the best of the person in front of him. "Want to talk later tonight? I don't have plans..."

Caelan reaches into her pocket and pulls out a handkerchief. "I don't even know why I brought this stupid thing," she says. "Anyway, I'm glad it has a use now," she says, holding it out towards Steve.

Steve smiles taking it. "Thanks." He mumbles through the cloth.

"You really did a number on your tongue, I would say you bit all the way through it." Greg says looking at Steve. "Sure after class today I would love to talk. How about you Cealan?"

"No prob! And I'd love to. Where do we meet?" Cealan asked, glad to be actually having a conversation that didn't have anything to do with titans or training.

"My sleeping place, after dinner. " Steve says taking the cloth away from his mouth. "I'm glad you two are nice enough to come.."

Greg smiles. "Anything for a friend."

Caelan grins. "Thanks for inviting us," she replies. "I hate to change the topic to fighting, but I'm curious: What corps are you two going in?" she asks. She didn't particularly want to talk about fighting, but she knew the question would be important at some point.

Max turns to Alex. "How many of us are going to join the survey corps?" he asked. He wanted to join the garrison himself. "Not many," Alex replied. He had wanted to join the survey corps, but he wanted to be able to protect his brother. Or at least that's what he told himself. Sure, that was part of the reason, but if he was honest, he was too scared to join the survey.
