Closed. See this post.

The main point of this thread is to determine how much interest I would get if I started another "game centre".

Background:

For 5-6 months I hosted a game thread that was eventually closed in February 2015. I dearly miss hosting games and having something to do every day on Sylestia. I miss giving pets and smiles. I still host raffles and give away many things, but I liked pinging friends and hosting large scale games like an adventure. I gave away very valuable prizes, some of the most valuable that were being given away at the time. I gave away tagged pets, wheel offspring, 6 visible pets and some gold. If you'd like to see the thread there is a link on my profile.

What I need from you:

Answer these:

1. Would you be interested in "subscribing" (being pinged when games begin) to a large game thread?
2. What are your favourite forum games (official or not)?
3. What are your favourite kinds of prizes?
4. Ideas for running such a thread? How should the posts/games be organized and what sort of information should be in the thread?

What you can win:

Answer the questions above and you get an entry to win this pet:

I'll also be giving away some consolation prizes to people who give a significant amount of feedback or propose new/unique ideas. It would also help if you've seen my previous game thread (link in profile) and mentioned something specific about what you liked or didn't like.

There is no closing date for this thread. I will close it and raffle the Vampiric Griffi when I feel I've had enough feedback to decide!

Interesting things to note (paraphrased):

Jazzy019: I think there should be many games going at once. Have all the games listed and make a little thing that says open/closed then you can ping people when you open a specific game.

Erinkitty2003: Maybe a game where people vote? You know, not just yourself, so it's more fair.

Rabbitaka: Having multiple games going at once should allow you to cater for the needs of more people. Try to make it less text heavy and in dot points rather than paragraphs.

Swirl: I think there should be more judges in the drawing games/design games. Try to keep the guidelines/rules short though, if it's too long, I just tend to skim through cause it just gets boring.

Toxxicangel: I like games where you have to put effort in, such as writing contests or art contests so you can appreciate others' work as well as doing more than just randomly picking a number. Gold is ALWAYS useful and needed by everyone.

Mewsalot2017: I say that having multiple games at once is a good, but it may be confusing for people that check out the thread because there's going to be different people commenting about different games. Have more than one game at once, yes, but not on this thread, on a different thread.

1. Would you be interested in "subscribing" (being pinged when games begin) to a large game thread? Yes please

2. What are your favourite forum games (official or not)? I like door games, riddles/trivia, I like raffles, art contests, writing contests. Mainly I like a large variety of games in one place.

3. What are your favourite kinds of prizes? Gold, pet breedings (pick two pets from your stable or one from our own and one from yours), pets, items

4. Ideas for running such a thread? How should the posts/games be organized and what sort of information should be in the thread? I think there should be many gams going at once. Have all the games listed and make a little thing that says open[] closed[] then you can ping people when you open a specific game

1. Yes! I love games, especially good ones with good prizes, :P
2. I really like the coloring page ones, and I would like the writing ones, but I never have time to write anything for them. I also like the design ones with set reference pictures (though I like to be able to choose the species).
3. I really like dressing up my avatar, so of course I like avatar items. I also like themed/purebred pets. Not a bunch of few-traited zolnixis. Participation prizes of gold are always nice.... (and maybe 50 or so diamonds for the 1st place winner along with some other stuff sounds reasonable, -ish :P)
4. There should be examples, always examples, (they really help confused noobs, I should know, :P). Don't make any generator pictures the largest size, 'cause that always takes up too much room, try, I don't know, maybe 150 or 200 (though I'm sure you already know that one). Maybe a people vote? You know, not just yourself, so it's fairer.

That's all I can think off.... :/

Yes, indeed.

2. What are your favourite forum games (official or not)?

I haven't played many (read: any) forum games, but I'd be willing to give anything that doesn't require coloring a shot. I just can't do it.

3. What are your favourite kinds of prizes?

Pets and dyes and philters are wonderful prizes. Rare-ish avvi items, too.

4. Ideas for running such a thread? How should the posts/games be organized and what sort of information should be in the thread?

Make the current game be really easy to find, and the rules easy to find and understand, and you oughta be set.

Hey!! ^o^

1. Would you be interested in "subscribing" (being pinged when games begin) to a large game thread?
Omg yes!! I loooooved your games!! I'm so glad ya might wanna do them again >o<

2. What are your favourite forum games (official or not)?
Hmmm... I like raffles, sea wars, pick a door, pet designs based on a topic/ reference pic/ or something like create the ugliest aeri or the cutest bulbori etc. I also like those choose a path ones but not ones that go on forever and get confusing. Quick and simple is good :) I also have very little time once school starts and i'm sure there are many that can relate so quick, intense games can be good for me, i can't always stick around to finish things otherwise x.x But having multiple games going at once should allow you to cater for the needs of more people ;)

3. What are your favourite kinds of prizes?
Despite my stable troubles i often find myself in... i love pets XD I really only like tags or purbred themes with a good number of traits/ project babies or 6 vis pets (other than nixi unless they got nice colour :P) And of course who doesn't like gold and diamonds. Diamonds especially would make really good premium prizes in my opinion because to me they're hard to get but essential cause' i need stables XDD
Old avi items that are no longer available are cool too :D

4. Ideas for running such a thread? How should the posts/games be organized and what sort of information should be in the thread?
Clear rules and 'how to' instructions are very important but try to make it less text heavy and in dot points rather than paragraphs. I know i tend to scan through if it looks like a lot of reading xP Rules are important for obvious reasons mhm.

Maybe each game has it's own post so things don't get messy, so everything you need regarding that game is in the one post. This would be helpful for those that only wanna play some games. As each game finishes, you could then edit the post for a new game. So maybe reserve some posts just in case you need them later.

A main post is important for any new comers and also for those who are coming back after a while. Maybe keep track of every game that has been done already and wrapped up along with the name of the winners of those games. This can just be at the bottom of the post as it's not really the most important but could be useful for catching up if you were away for a bit.

Lastly a ping list is always good. I love pings cause i always forget stuff :P A ping when a new game starts and a ping a day before the game ends would be ideal, but of course, you just do what you're comfortable with ^o~

Oh! and... when writing the dates and times when things end instead of say 01/05/15 ...do something like 1st of May 2015 because some of us write the month first others write it second... learnt this the hard way xP

...sorry, i didn't realize how big it's gotten o_O

Answer these:

1. Would you be interested in "subscribing" (being pinged when games begin) to a large game thread?
Ans: Yes

2. What are your favourite forum games (official or not)?
Ans: Errr I like design games :3 Raffles/giveaways are okay. I also like those storyline games (more engaging), something like the pick-a-door game but there's an interesting plot/story as well, people "die" if they pick a wrong choice/path in the game. (not sure if that makes sense.... )

I don't really like official games cause everything's judged by the admins and er, I think there should be more judges in the drawing games/design games and blahblahblah.

All games are fun, I've never seen a boring one... and as long as you host the game/s whole heartedly, I'm sure everyone who participates will appreciate the time spent on planning/hosting the game, and will appreciate the time/money given in planning/getting the prizes.

3. What are your favourite kinds of prizes?
Ans: Exclusive pets (especially if they're tagged griffi's), anything on my wishlist. Sometimes gold... even if it's 1k. Ah, mystical items are great as well.

4. Ideas for running such a thread? How should the posts/games be organized and what sort of information should be in the thread?
Ans: Rules (simple ones are fine) are important, so people don't cheat or smth. Try to keep the guidelines/rules short though, if it's too long, I just tend to skim through cause it just gets boring. Or another way is to add different colours to different short paragraphs, so it's more appealing to the eye lmao xD Pinglists are good to keep track of who wants to join in the next round/who wants to be pinged for all rounds. I've also been thinking of hosting more engaging games cause I only host raffles/giveaways and nothing else. Actually I'll send u an email bout that ~

Hmmm and thanks for gifting me that smoothie vorpa :3 I love her Koi <3 I think I'm going to buy a greater genetic mut when i have the money and use it on her so she can have seashells/mystic fins or smth, can't decide on which trait.

1. Would you be interested in "subscribing" (being pinged when games begin) to a large game thread?
Of course!

2. What are your favourite forum games (official or not)?
I like games where you have to put effort in, such as writing contests or art contests so you can appreciate others' work as well as doing more than just randomly picking a number. However, one's based on luck does give everyone of all ages a chance to win :)

3. What are your favourite kinds of prizes?
Gold is ALWAYS useful and needed by everyone, philters, dyes and such are also good prizes :) not everyone is fond of pet collecting ^^

4. Ideas for running such a thread? How should the posts/games be organized and what sort of information should be in the thread?
Different contests should be on different posts, obviously, hopefully all fitting exactly on one page, and kept updated on new info and the newest contests and such, including necessary info such as the game, rules and possible prizes (I know some people prefer not to reveal the prizes beforehand). Maybe organised by date the contest ends?
