It was nothing but a thread asking if people would like
me to hold a giveaway since I'm inactive on the site.
If I (somehow) broke a rule with that, fine, but it would
have been nice to wake up to a message letting me
know this instead of my thread just being gone.

Not sure if it means anything or if it's related to your thread, but there's this rule in the Terms of Service, under III. Using the Site's Forums, Chat, or Mail, point L.
You may not publicly announce that you are quitting or leaving our Site. If you wish to discuss this with other players, you can use our Site's private methods of communication.
Maybe that has to do with it?
I suppose it could be rectified by just having a giveaway without mentioning more detail behind it. o: But I have seen giveaways or players give away their things due to them leaving or going inactive, but they haven't been deleted or monitored as closely.

Yes, that was it. The rules aren't exactly that out there
so I'd say a lot of users just use common sense. That
is all rules typically are, so I never would have guessed
that something like that was against site policy.
