I know this doesn't seem like a breeding topic, but to be able to complete my project I need to understand this :/

https://www.sylestia.com/view/pets/?petid=1650679

This female is 20 days old, I bought her as a 12 day old adolescent.. For whatever reason, her profile is showing her to be 20 days, but she's still an adolescent. Is anyone able to understand what's happened here? Any comments to help would be VERY appreciated, my Ry breeding is at a standstill due to ageing problems with my breedable females :/

Pets have an age and a maturity. The age in the pet profile reflects the number of days since the pet has been created. The maturity of the pet determines which "life stage" it is at.

If you right click the pet image and copy the image url, near the end there is a &maturity=__ (where that number is the pet's maturity in hours). Your pet is currently at 478 hours of maturity. Pets need to reach 648 hours to be adults.

The reason why maturity and age is different is because the pet's maturity gets frozen when the site is down for maintenance, to prevent pets from growing up during this time and being accidentally released.

Oh I see! Most guides I've read say, egglings take 3 days to hatch, 8 days till adolescents and 18 days to mature to adults. Thank you for the info on their maturity connecting to hourly ageing.

Wouldn't of had a clue! Lol

Thank you again ^.^*

you're welcome. =)
By right, if you don't use pies or there's no downtime on the site, the pets take the number of days stated in most guides to reach the next stage.

I think it's just more noticeable recently because the site keeps running into issues resulting in long downtimes. I remember the first time I encountered this problem was when the site was taken down for a major update. That's when I was told about the aging =/= maturity thing. =P

Ohh, so when the Migration to the new host begins today the current count of pets waiting to mature will be put on ice till the new host and server is up and running? O.o

Sounds efficient when taking into account the possible unwanted release rates.. I had a hatchling at 8 days mature to adolescent today and another has 8 days on his profile but he's at a standstill also, hope he matures when the Migration is over!

Thank heaven for the forums and you lovelies that patrol it and help users like myself! Honestly would be still sat here thinking I'm doing something wrong xD

Yep. So when the site's migrating to the new server later today, all the pets' maturities will be frozen so no one will grow old and accidentally be released.

Then once the site is running again, the pets will age normally. =)

I received a lot of help through the forums, so I like to stalk it when I'm free to help others~ ^^
