I think that would depends on whether you're planning to buy the mate, or just breed.
If you're looking for a male to breed with, the breeding forum would be appropriate.
If you're looking to buy a male, you should post in the pet auction forum.


To link an image, click on the IMG= button above the message box on the far right. paste the link (the pet's page url) in the pop up box, and click confirm. Then paste the image url in between the brackets. So [ img=pet's page link]image url[/img]

Depends on what you're looking for. Usually non-themed pets are not expensive.
If you are looking for particular traits, you can actually use the advanced search. That will list out the pets that are currently on public sale, and you can sort them by price.

If you're looking for particular coloration, then you'll have to post in the pet auction forum, telling people what you want, and you can state how much you're willing to pay, and see who responds.

Themed pets are pets with a specific colour scheme, and can only be obtained during a festival period. These pets have a themed name, and the original pets have a tag in their profile. Eg, https://www.sylestia.com/view/pets/?petid=910165 has a Island Flower Aeridini tag in purple in the profile. We usually call the original themed pets "tagged". any pet born from "tagged" pets, or purebreds are called purebreds. So basically these are offsprings of the themed, with the themed coloration.

So because these pets can only be obtained during festivals, after which any new pet has to be bred, they are considered more valuable, and thus are usually more expensive.

So any pets that are non-themed are basically your normal pets. Pets that are bred/caught/generated.

There are also "custom" pets, which are pets that have a specific colour scheme made by players. So these are just normal pets, that players generated/dyed to a certain coloration and bred to maintain that colour scheme. These might be expensive depending on the player, colours, and number of traits.

Yep, yours is not. Starter pets are similar to generated pets. Just more special, since they're your first pet.
