You earn 1 scale each time you take care of an egg/hatchling. To do so, go to your hatchery, and click the "help nurture sylesties" blue button. Then click the good answer for each egg : ex : the egg is warm >> cool it. It's pretty straightforward.
You have a very low chance of getting an essence when nurturing too.

And when you answer to someone, use the @ to ping them (they have a notice you answered them =) you can also put their username in the "ping users" section when writing a message.
