For some reason I have yet to understand, the damage type (physical/magical) of my basic attacks seem to toggle. Sometimes I hover over focus attack and it says it does physical damage, other times, it says magical. I am not sure why this happens or if there is something I am unknowing doing that causes it. Is it to do with equipment? Did I accidentally click something? Or is it some sort of glitch?

It's because of how you chose your stats for your pets - if you have more strength, it'll make all their attacks physical. If you have more points in intellect, it'll make all their attacks magical.
I would suggest choosing either intellect or strength - not both.

Thank you very much for your prompt responses. It would seem, then, that crusader gear is redundant. Good thing I am new and reworking stats won't gouge my pockets too hard (I hope).
