Seeing as you are currently a lower level and likely need money, your best bet would be to buy a Pet dye and sell in in the trade broker for around 100,000g -> 120,000g.

If you're willing to take a gamble, scale shop eggs can be quite interesting. You'll never know what you'll get, and sometimes you'll get a nice surprise. all the eggs from the scale shop can be any non-fabled species though. No fabled pets.

The general rule is the more scales it cost, the more traits the pet is likely to have.

If you want to know what kind of pets you can get from the scale shop, there's a relatively old thread where some users posted the pet they bought from the scale shop, including the amount of scales it cost, and the amount of traits it has. I don't think the admins change the scale to traits ratio, so it should still be accurate. But I haven't bought anything from the scale shop for a really long time, so i'm not sure. =/
