I'm guessing this is due to the work being done on the wardrobe,
since everyones avatar has gone back to default in style...
BUT... that being the case of what I figured was most likely makes it not the question.

My question is,
Is this permanent and do we have to go back and repick everything again?
And if not, how long should this last for?

Ooookay so I got most of my avatar back...
But why is it that one of the default hair is suddenly now you have to pay for it?!
I'm really upset about this, my character was based off my Naruto OC and
the only hair that really fit her hair style, I was happy before that it was a default!
But now suddenly I need 1.5k AP to get it back?!
Thats not fair... it was a default before... all the other defaults stayed free.... -.-
This just... really... REALLY bums me out big time... I don't even wanna LOOK at my avater...
Ugh... she looks... horrible...

Yes you will have to go back through and reset your avatar to what it was previously. As some things were shuffled, though, some of the appearance features are now locked, so you will have to unlock those (via Diamonds or AP) to access them again.

I noticed... I'm really not happy about that...
I was content with how she was before...
now a default I suddenly need to pay for...
I could understand the others but... unno...
I just feel like defaults should stay free if they
weren't originally locked to begin with...
It makes me annoyed every time I glance at my avatar...

Not much to be done. It's a price to be paid in big changes like this, especially when the site is still in beta. To be fair, though, in the hour that AP has even been able to be collected, I've already racked up 100 of them (and seriously I literally nurtured 100 hatchlings and participated in the literal last 76/84 and Myconid King of the Fungus Grove raid). It's not as bad as you think.

But if you really are hard up and can't stand even the sight of your avatar, you can always man up and use Diamonds to buy the hair you want without working out all that AP.
