Now , I know that this site has to make money on your game to keep it up and running , but one thing that's really been bothering me about this game is that once you name your pet , to change its name you have to pay real money (diamonds) to change its name..... Like I said , I realize that you guys have to make money on this game, but this is not the way to go about it ....... Especially , for players like me that use naming for classification of the pets (Don't get me wrong I'll spend a little money on a game that I like, to help with updates, and artwork, ETC , you know) , Plus .... when a pet has been named and you wanna sell it , the fact that it cost's diamonds to rename a pet really turns a lot of people away from buying a already named pet , which is another reason why this feature makes it tough on some players , and clashes with certain features. Honestly I don't see the point in keeping this "feature".

I'll just play devil's advocate for a bit.

In Pokemon, people mainly focus on looking for a certain pokemon, moreso for its looks/stats/moveset/gender/shiny (if it's shiny) status rather than its name. Sure, it's kinda limiting that if it's named, you can't really change it once it's in your possession, but that's a small price to pay for owning the pokemon. (PLUS the only way you trade pokemon is WITH pokemon instead of the money currency.)

I kind of see "Un-named" pets like regular pokemon that aren't named (aka Tropius, Ralts, Jigglypuff, the regular names of the species). People probably should be told from the beginning that once they're named, the only way they can rename it is through a cash item (there's a WARNING/REMINDER pop up that asks "are you sure you want to renamed Un-named?" and I guess you can kinda tack on a reminder on that later on).

I personally don't see the name thing detrimental to owning the pet.
I'm not really bothered about naming pets. If you had to choose between having an awesome looking 4vis pet named "Snoozlekins" and spending 100 diamonds to change it on top of buying the pet, then chances are, you'd probably want to cheap out and keep the name. The look and value of the pet would be more than renaming the pet, plus it would grow on you.

I personally think that, sometime, the name choosen are better than what I could think of, with the load of pets I got already(most of them still Un-named), having an already named pet is actually great, especially if I like the name and think it's fitting(or just don't dislike the name enough to make me think of not buying it).

Yes, I am GLAD when I find a nice pet already named, because it save me the time to name it~ XD
Unless there's a "typo" in the name, I don't see why I should change it, EVEN if I have the money to spend on to get Diamonds to change it~ XD
I think I only bought two-three of those and ended up giving one away to a friend who mistyped one of her pet's name~ owo
(Simply because I don't have great use of it~ XP)

So, apart from adding a "You need to use a Philter of Amnesia to change the name of this pet after naming it" message-thing and make it clear+obvious, so people wonder what it is and if they don't know at all, will ask around and realize it's costing Real Money, then they'll be REAL cautious about when they name their pets, then I feel this Problem is solved~ :3

I think the whole reason to the philter of amnesia costing real Diamonds is to make players actually stop and think about their pets. This site isn't just creating, breeding, and battling with no care to the pets you're supposed to be creating. One big difference this site has almost any other pet sim is the fact that Sylestia doesn't require you to name the pet when you create it. I think this is great because if it doesn't come out the way you want, you don't have some special name you reserve for something only you have value to on something that looks nothing like what you wanted. So instead of naming, you can give the failure away and try again (or sell the failure, pick your poison).

It also forces players to actually think of what they want something to be named long-term. Yeah, the name "Snoozlekins" sounds great and funny now, but do you always want that name for them? If not, if you think it's hilarious now but aren't so sure about later, then you may want to wait out naming that pet. That's why I have SO many Un-named pets in my own stables. I haven't thought of good names for them yet, or something I feel comfortable with long-term. Honestly I like the fact that the Philters are Diamonds only.. It makes players think twice about naming their pets, which means I'm more likely to get something awesome that is still listed as Un-named rather than finding an amazing batch of "Woozlebumpkins" (all failed attempts to make or breed something specific) that make me wanna cry when I see their name (but had to buy because I couldn't pass up the visible beauty of the pet).
