When you find eggs while exploring, is there a way to see if it is cool or warm (abandoned or not) before you decide to keep or ignore it? Because I've tried keeping two eggs before, and it turned out that they were warm, and I mortally wounded the egglings. :(

"cool", and "warm" have nothing to do with finding the egg. All eggs are healthy when you find them.

It has to do with nurturing. Nurturing an egg helps it hatch faster, and gives you scales if you do it right. One person can nurture their (and others) egg and hatchling once a day. To nurture eggs, go to your hatchery, and click "help nurture sylesties "

"The egg is warm" >> cool it

The egg is cool >> warm it

The egg is dull >> polish it

The egg is restless >> turn it

No, not in the hatchery. I mean while exploring, on the map. I find eggs occasionally, and some are abandoned while others are not.

Yes, I know, and you can take all of them. Then they will appear in your hatchery. There are no "bad eggs" while exploring. It's just one of the way to get sylesties

Yeah, but sometimes when I click 'Keep It' on a screen like the one above, it turns out that the Sylesti's parents are still taking care of it and haven't abandoned it. Then I don't get to keep the egg.

I'm sorry, I won't answer then, because I never saw this ? (I'm quite new, maybe it didn't happen to me yet.

No, sorry, there's no way to tell whether or not the parents have abandoned it before you decide to keep it. It's another one of the things on this site that you have to gamble about.
