I have reworked the history so not everything you read below is true

Before the elves, before the gryphons, before the dragons themselves there were four gods called Eternals, Lifeververa the Goddess of Earth, Infernissius the God of Fire, Tidallia the Goddess of Water, Thundrusan the God of Air, and they ruled over the land of Sha'Alai.

Once the Eternals were kind and caring and to their most talented and devoted followers they would give a gift, the gift of magic, a tiny portion of a their power in return for a tiny portion of the human's soul. And as they were worshipped they began to crave the souls, they hungered for them and the became dependent on the souls' power. Soon they began demanding human sacrifices to feed their growing hunger. Meanwhile the magic users (or mages as they would soon be called) whose souls could not be devoured devised a plan to banish the crazed gods. For the Mages had heard of an artifact that housed all of the Eternals' power and all of their stolen souls. After ten long years of searching the mages finally found the sacred artifact, The Soul Crystal, a massive gem pulsing with magical energies and whispering with the voices of thousands of sacrificed spirits. The mages brought The Soul Crystal back to the main temple, The Well of the Eternals. While they worked magic more powerful than any mage had ever done before, or since, the armies of men fought, bled and died in countless numbers before the enraged Eternals. Until finally the nine most powerful mages broke The Soul Crystal in the most catastrophic magical event of all time, The Shattering, which changed Sha'Alai forever...

Sha'Alai was transformed into Zath'Alaivar, The Shattered Lands. But from the destruction which wracked the world came countless blessings, and curses. The ever-hungry Eternals were dead, but the nine mages who worked to shatter The Soul Crystal died too and their spirits would come to be known as The Shattered, bound to the broken fragments of the Crystal for the rest of eternity. The great Aivaila Forest was wiped out by the explosion, and turned to the the Dead Wastes, a desert devoid of all life and haunted by vengeful souls. And The Well of Eternals, situated in the middle of the Aivaila Forest, was torn apart and blasted with magic, great pieces of the land and the temple hover, slowly spinning around the Shards of the broken Soul Crystal, beneath the Shards is a deep crater filled with magic and the released souls who have forgotten how to stand, swimming in a whirling vortex of mana. The souls who escaped found new bodies, either filling them with huge amounts of mana or draining them of all magic, dwarves, elves, gryphons, soul-suckers, kitsune, merfolk, sathikr, harpies, wyverns, and even the great dragons themselves were created by such a union.

Currently there are seven sentient (aka self-aware) races to choose from, Humans, Elfs, Dwarves, Halflings, Sathikr (lizard-folk), Dragons and Gryphons. Some of them have special naming schemes (Sathikr, Dragons and Gryphons) but there might be rare exceptions to said schemes.

This is kind of like a Dragon (or Gryphon) Rider Academy roleplay, so I would recommend two characters, one flying and one rider.

I will go over the appearences and other special things of each race in the next post.

Like the elves from Lord of the Rings, tall, thin and beautiful. Alaivarian elves are not immortal.

Dwarves
----------------
Short, stocky race, dwarf women are rare, and tend to have beards. Dwarves don't really like elves.

Halflings
----------------
Basically hobbits.

Sathikr
---------------
Bipedal, humanoid reptiles coming in various shades of brown, gray, green and teal. Instead of hair they have either feathers, fins or spikes and horns.

Gryphons
-----------------
Gryphons mainly inhabit the Icraein mountains and are well suited to the thin air and (sometimes) chilling temperatures. These sentient creatures speak Common (English) and come in colors ranging from a tawny gold, to black, to blue-grey, to white or anything in between and they look like a cross between a feline and a bird of prey.

Swift-Wing: Fast and agile, this gryphon sub-species is the smallest and lightest of them all. They resemble a mix of a cheetah or ocelot and falcon, kestrel or osprey. Sporting the colorings of either or both animals

Hush-Wing: Silent and stealthy, this gryphon sub-species is quietest of all gryphons. They resemble a mix between a leopard, jaguar or panther and some kind of owl. Sporting the colors of either or both animals.

Broad-Wing: Strong and sturdy, this gryphon sub-species is the largest and most powerful. They resemble a mix between a lion or tiger and an eagle or a hawk. Sporting the colorings of either or both animals.

Dragons
---------------
Intelligent and extremely magical reptiles with four legs and two wings. They come In pretty much any color imaginable. (But please refrain from making your dragon hot pink)

Sathikr naming scheme: Like the translated argonian names from the elder scrolls, if you have no idea what I'm talking about here's some examples, Strides-Through-Marsh, Dozes-in-Muck, Drinks-the-Sunlight, their names usually relate to nature, especially swamps.

Gryphon naming scheme: Like the warrior cat's names, for example, Goldfeather, Silentbreeze, Duskcaller, that sort of thing.

Dragon naming scheme: Kind of like the gryphon naming scheme but in Draconic, it is a version of draconic that I wrote myself so I will have to translate your name for you. Examples, Nyxaevk (which translates to Night's Wrath) Rearakvaara (which translates to Shadow Flame) and Hakunath (which translates to Ancient One)

That's such a cool plot and everythnig about it, I can see why you were pretty excited for this Fantasy RP, not confused yet but anything is fine with me. Till friday gives me a good time to go ahead and really develope a character. I can't wait.

Nice characters they sound very interesting and like they will fit in.

Sorry to be a stickler for details but the F in SnowFeather shouldn't be captialized and magic in Alaivar isn't so much specific powers as general things. So his (Dido's) power would start out as simply being able to understand animals (not what they're saying, just what they're feeling, most animals can't talk) to being able to make animals understand him to being able to very easily control animals and tame them easier.

Also just out of random curiosity what is the relationship between your two characters? Are they friends, planning to be riding partners, just always paired up together in group assignments, or something else?
