This baby hatched recently.

She has war horse armor as a visible and carries icicle mane. And I don't know how the last one happend.

This is her mother: https://www.sylestia.com/view/pets/?petid=1269487
And this is her father: https://www.sylestia.com/view/pets/?petid=684877

None of them even carries icicle mane ...
Please explain?

The mother actually does carry the Icicle Mane trait, it's just hidden. If a sylesti has a visible trait it's also possible for them to carry a "hidden" trait in the same slot. Sadly, there is no way to tell from the pet's page that this is occurring however you can find out more in the advanced search form.

When looking up the Qitari and viewing the 'Genetics' tab, you see this:

In the Genetics tab, Purple text means that it has a visible trait AND a hidden trait. Blue text means it's just a visible trait and Green text means it has a carried trait. In order to figure out which traits it has you need to look at the letters inside the parenthesis. In the case of a Visible and Hidden trait (purple text) it will show two different letters, corresponding to the traits the sylesti has.

If you look at all the trait options for Mutation Slot 2 you'll see that the 'E' means Luxorious Locks while the 'F' means Icicle Mane. The first letter shows the visible trait, the second letter shows the hidden trait. If it only has a visible trait and no carry (blue text) it will show the same letter twice, like with the male it shows (EE). In the case of a carried trait (green text) it will always show "N" as a the first letter and the second letter will correspond to the trait it carries, in the case of the offspring's Mutation 2 (NF) mean it carries Icicle Mane.

By doing this, you'll see the female has 2 visible traits but actually carries 4 different traits...
Mutation 1: (AH) Shows Carousel, Carries Spring Flowers
Mutation 2: (EF) Shows Luxorious Lock, Carries Icicle Mane

Also, the offspring has 3 traits...
Mutation 1: (EH) Shows Warhorse Armor (Petal), Carries Spring Flowers
Mutation 2: (NF) Carries Icicle Mane

When it comes to breeding, the lower letters (A, B, C, etc..) are more likely to be passed down to an offspring compared to higher letters (H, I, J, etc..).

Hopefully this helps you understand why it happened the way it did.. if not feel free to ping me with any questions!

Thank you very much for the explanaition! That helps a lot, not only in this case, but for future breeding projects, too.

One question though: Can sylestis carry more then one hidden trait? I guess not, because it's limited by the number of letters? There can't be three letters, can they?

You're welcome!

At most they can only have one visible and one hidden carried trait.
