I'm used to Flight Rising's BBcode and i'm wondering how you code messages/forum posts and especially About Me pages.
How do you do things like add images and change fonts?

It's different depending where you're posting. For forums, use the font buttons above the message. It's all pretty normal for BB code. About me's are different in that the buttons are not available so you have to manually type it. For Private Messages, the only difference is in the URL BBcode.
Example for forum BB Code:
(Remove spaces between brackets)
Image (IMG):
[ img]IMAGELINK[ /img]
Link w/ text (URL=):
[ url=LINK]TEXT[ /url]
Image Link (IMG then URL= while imagetext is highlighted. or just manually write):
[ url=LINK][ img]IMAGELINK[ /img][ /url]
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
For aboutme, it's pretty much the same but you have to type it yourself. The main difference is for URLs. If you're having trouble, try formatting in a Private Message then copy over.
Link (For aboutme AND private messages):
[ urllink=LINK]TEXT[ /urllink]
Hope this helps. c:

you can't change what font you use. You can use italics([i ][ /i]), bold([b ][/b ]), underline([ u][/ u]), sub-up([sup ][/sup ]), sub down([sub ][/sub ]), and strikethrough([str ][/str ]) to directly modify your text. (there are buttons for these between the ping box and the message box)You can also change the size and color of text, as well as how it's aligned. using the url and image buttons, you can add links and images. The user lookup pages don't have the handy code bar built in to the top like the forum pages, so you might want to type up your about me in the forms, then paste it to your lookup.
edit: realized someone else answered this in more detail.

BB code is usually pretty standard across sites, but they do have their nuances. Glad there isn't much of a difference between Sylestia BB Code and FR code. c:
