In real life people dye their hair in many different ways so I was thinking of maybe having the hair layered.
So like copies of the hairstyle layered on top of the original but erase certain bits. And the option of a general hair colour or to dye each section in which case there could be a hide layer button incase some layers clash with the ones you want to dye.
I dont know much about computers but it will be like duplicating the image, dysecting it and layering it on top and/or hiding layers, so it looks like just the original layor is present until you dye each layer a different colour ^^

Also sutlety isnt really a part of the idea here so it doesnt have to like fade and blend too much, and too much blending might be bad for certain layers :)

I'm not sure how easy it would be to implement with all the existing hairstyles... But if something like this could be added to the wardrobe during the site revamp and be compatible with new hairstyles, I would be thrilled. I love the idea!

This is impossible under the current avatar system.
However, we are looking at ways to improve the avatar system for relaunch - this may be something that gets added then.
