I'm not sure if I'm just INCREDIBLY unlucky, or if the generator is actually broken somewhere.
But turning RED into GREEN? That's the OPPOSITE END OF THE COLOR SPECTRUM.
This is what the perfect result should look like. I generated the pets from the exact same color specifics, both times.
Now I know that the resulting pets from regular essences aren't meant to be perfect, but come on! These aren't even in the right vicinity!
Especially you! *points to the total green wing Nyte* You're an abomination of what was supposed to be me as a Sylesti! >_<
The first one came with a slight color skew, but at least it's still RED.
So either the generator is BROKEN. Or the color skew really needs to be rethought. Shading is one thing to skew, but completely screwing up color? That's just annoying.
I probably wouldn't be quite upset if it wasn't meant to be a Nytekrie based on me. Black and Red is basically my daily attire and the whole crew knows it as my trademark. Doesn't help that there are three colors I will never wear: GREEN, pink, and yellow. And the Nytekrie meant to be me, is GREEN. >_<;

Dark colors - especially when around the '0' range or '255' range - are susceptible to this. And to just give a quick response, yes, we will most likely tweak the algorithm when we relaunch.
For now though, what it does is shift everything by a certain amount - most likely for those 'greens' it shifted down. Since it hit 0, it bounces back up. This can cause a skew already. Then after a global shift, it does an individual shift for R, G, and B. It's possible that the 'R' went down while the 'G' and 'B' colors went up. This would skew even further.
So your pets were just an extreme case of bad color swings. =(
Fortunately, though, you can always use some pets dyes to fix them up.

Got three pet dyes for the three broken colors. Two of them worked fairly enough so this guy is fixed.
The other. I got one right, and the second? MORE GREEN!
In fact.. that's an evenworsegreen than what I had before using the pet dye. *points to dark almost-bluish black color in the previous appearance*
Maybe add lesser pet dyes to the list of algorithms in need of a tweak. Darks and especially whites are notorious for jumping to random colors. Silvery blues to ugly dishwater yellows or weird off-red-pinkish creamy colors. o_e; ... and dark reds to ugly dark greens... XD

They use the same function as the generator does for random'ing selected colors. So yep, they'll be updated as well.
