I love this game, but the boss fights seem unbalanced. It seems a bit ridiculous that even if my fighters are so high a level that I can coast through the quests, they'll still be completely decimated by the boss fight. *Spoilers* I been stuck on the Lord Talon fight for a while because he can wipe out a pet four levels above him in just a few shots.
Now I have to basically grind Missions until my pets are so powerful that the next quest area is a breeze. That, in turn, will lure me into a false sense of security so that the next boss fight will seem even more impossible.
I'm a little peeved that my only interaction with this game is sending pets on missions. I love this game, and I want to be able to play it more actively.

Have you spent all your level up points and proficiency points? I defeated Talon @ level 30ish w/ my pets.
Also equipment makes a huge difference.

Dungeons are meant to be extremely challenging and are considered the "end-game" for each region. We are also working on the 2nd region and it should be released in a week or two. This will offer an alternative to advancing your pets rather than missions.
As far as defeating the current dungeon, have you expanded your party to 3 pets? Also, make sure you're spending all of your pet's level up points and proficiency points.
Additionally, try having a 'tank' pet in your party's first slot to absorb damage. Pets at the front of the party get the most attention.
Please let me know if you have any other questions and good luck!

I've gone in with a tank pet, an int pet and a str pet, all well higher than the boss and had him wipe me out in record time. I suppose this is a fight that you just have to use a potion at every single round to survive.... I'm not interested in continuing trying, as it's a huge waste of resources .
But I know it IS possible- seen plenty of people manage it. =)

You shouldn't have to use a consumable every turn to defeat him. If your pets are not prepared, I could see using maybe a half dozen throughout the entire fight.
In order to have a moderate-easy time defeating Talon, I suggest the following:
1. 3 Level 25-30+ pets or 2 Level 30+ pets 2. Have a pet with 3k+ health in the first slot and decent Physical/Magical Mitigation 3. Have the other pets be more focused on damage, but at least 2k-2.5k health 4. Your pets need to be in at least level 25 blues or better. He is a dungeon boss, so you can't really expect to succeed with old gear or greens. He won't become 'easy' until your pets are in some epics and legendaries. 5. Have at least 6 elixirs and 3 draughts. The more the better, though.
As far as an actual strategy, that is up to you guys to decide.
However, the above list is the difficulty that Talon is attuned for. If it were any less, he wouldn't make for a very good dungeon boss.
Remember, you don't have to beat him on your first try. If you're having trouble, just reset the dungeon and clear the first 3 bosses to farm gear. And also, remember to use the Trade Broker. I am sure there is plenty of good upgrades for relatively cheap prices listed on the broker.
I hope that helps!

May I make a suggestion as well though? What I like to do is take down Sapphire first cause she does a lot of damage, she like a dps Mage. Then I go for Talon, he is a lot a like berserker, melee damage with high crits. Finally good old Ember. He doesn't really do too much, or to say the least not enough for me to care about. He like a tank or damage sponge, he can take a beating, but mostly what he does do is the Regeneration skill, or the damage reduction buff. I honestly got splattered like fruit stand hit by a moving van the first time I fought them. I had to look back through the damages, and lose a second time before I knew what was going on. After I had a plan, decent gear, and lvl 25 pets he was a hard, but enjoyable fight.
I hope some of my ramblings help, I've just woke up. T.T

I was able to beat him once I expanded my party.
I've beat him twice and I didn't have to use that many items.
I always challenge bosses when my team all has full mana. >: D (three finishing moves in a row do nasty damage)
Then I take out Sapphire then the other guy (I always want to call him Ruby, lol). They always seem to just sit there.
Or you could always buy a high level sylesti to help out. ;D

The only way I managed to defeat Lord Thallon, is I had 3 lvl 28-31's, all with beam, 75 Lesser Healing Elixir 2's, and 100 Lesser Manna Elixir 2's! All the gear was from the Town Hall *or better*, and I STILL used 3/4'ths of all my Elixirs! D:
... I still won the fight with 80% health though...

For me, I always attacked Talon first when the fight started. I would always build up my Syletsti's mana all the way to 100% (for all three of my party members), so that I could slam Talon with three Finishing Moves in the beginning turn.
I would also make sure Mend was available to be used too, so that when health was low, I could delay using items.
However, my strategy may or may not work for others... as two of my pets, Fafnir and Alia, are well above Level 40... since I was doing a boatload of missions to prepare for the dungeon. My third Sylesti, as a result, is just any creature above level 20 that needed training. xD
Fafnir is sort of like my tank, as he has over 3k health, so he usually sits in the front and does a decent amount of Magical Fire damage. Alia is my main attacker, using Slash (Wind) to inflict bleeding and do a decent amount of Physical Damage. As for my third Sylesti, it's either a Magical Fighter or a Physical Fighter depending on the element.
I've defeated Talon around 4 times already. Even with my higher level pets, I always end up using around 4-7 Restore Elixers and MAYBE one Revival Draught on Fafnir (as he is in the front, so he absorbs the most damage)... even when I use Mend.
However, I was able to obtain AMAZING armor from the battle. Fafnir is already wearing TWO mythical items (Talon's Armor and the Bracelet of Shadows), so I would say it is well worth your time and effort to train and defeat this dungeon.
Like said, that was just my strategy for the dungeon. Results may vary for some, considering how my creatures were already slightly overleveled. xD However, I do hope it helped in some small way. x3

Tried again, with 2 lvl 35's and a 34, all with fireball... and all geared for severe damage. The fight went MUCH quicker, and I only used 8 health elixirs and 24 mana elixirs.
