okay i sincerely apologize if this is the wrong subforum for this, but i didn't see a single thread for pricing and i have no idea how to gauge pricing on this site OTL
anyway, samples,
soft shaded (fullbody+halfbody)
x x
hard shaded and only lineart (both fullbody)
x x
looking for a general range for bust-fullbody fully colored, i think i can figure out the rest.

There isn't much of an art market here which is why you couldn't find any. My guess is 300k for a halfbody and 700k for a fullbody.

ah, makes sense.
wow, that's way more than i figured, but i guess i'm so used to underpricing to get people to buy real money commissions(still doesn't work T_T) that i do it everywhere...
thanks though, i really appreciate it!

Yeah >///< You are right on having to underprice. ^.^''' At least from when I've seen 1 or 2 other people try for higher price points, it didn't work due to the the limited amount of users who could afford it. But underpricing art just doesn't feel right at all. :(
Could perhaps do headshots for 100-150k as a lower price point alternative. (Just thinking more here)

it's like, i understand, i can't afford art most of the time, i'm still trying to save up for a 6th tab(and seventh and eighth) and diamonds for a new stable, but then there's the limited time opportunities of the festival that i keep spending on! i've got very little to work with right now.
but it also totally adds to the stigma that art isn't a 'real' career option, which of course is something i personally cannot stand since...that's what i wanna get into, y'know? it's not the most realistic, thanks to the aforementioned stigma, but it's what i really want and i'll find a way, somehow, someday.
but especially when it comes to real money commissions, it's such a blow to be selling $15 halfbodies when that doesn't even meet minimum wage. if i even get a single commission :T it's a skill like any other, and if it takes time that i should be compensated for!
yeah, i was figuring something like that after you gave the other prices. i really just needed an official-ish range, then i could work from there. i've got a good two years of experience with art shops on Gaia, but of course that environment is a polar opposite to Sylestia's. Nowhere else seems to have as big a user base so it can be hard to do anything but rely on others to help gauge the economy. (plus my impromptu hiatus here totally nixed any chance of being able to tell myself)
wooo, i rambled, sorry!

Aww thanks! Yeah i'm gonna close up my freebie thread, finish a few more requests there, then set up the art shop! I noticed some stuff in the rules sticky i haven't considered before so i have to cover all that too.
