I don't know if this has been said before or not but I'm not finding any essence anymore. I found 2 when I started playing but thats it. I know it's suppose to be rare to get essence but seriously only getting 2 in about a year sounds pretty ridiculous.
Has anyone had this happen to them? Or is this a new problem?

Its luck really, you can sometimes get them from battling, nurturing, Jinxie's Jamboree, Mission Satchels. Given some time the best way to get one in my opinion is Jinxie's Jamboree, even though it might take awhile.
Nothing is wrong its just bad luck :P

I try everyday to get essence. I know how to get essence but I just never get them. I'm wondering if it suppose to do this or not.
I don't have a problem with bad luck but not finding any essence in 300 days doesn't sound right to me. It doesn't seem fair either. My brother has found more essence than I have and so have many others. The only way I can see for me to get them is buying them from other users.

A steady alternative method is to always farm gold and buy them from other players. Most essences can be obtained for not that much gold on the Trade Broker.
