I know there's been some upset over the expense of the maze and the fact that you can get kicked out of it after paying such a steep price to get in, and I stand by what I've said about that, I understand it and why it's so high and the chances for the big prizes so slim. I support that.
What I do have a bit of an issue with so far is the premium items, mainly the premium seed pouches and fertilizer bags. I've bought some and won some from the maze, the few times I entered it... And I have never gotten anything other than the least expensive prize. Lesser fertilizer, and one non-fabled seed. With the Wheel, even when I was getting the lesser prizes, they were still useful things that I felt like I was paying good money for. I would feel the same about the maze if the premium items were a little more likely to yield the more rare items. 200 diamonds for a premium seed pouch that's only going to give you one regular seed the majority of the time isn't at all worth it, in my opinion. And with the already low chances of getting the the better prizes in the maze, I feel like the premium item prizes you can get and open from the first couple rooms should yield just a little bit more.
I hope I'm not coming off as whining about things and not being appreciative, because that's not how I view this. But it's a new thing and chances always need to be tweaked a bit in the beginning with user feedback, I think? So providing my opinion, and opening the floor to discussion about it.

It would be nice if enrichments were replaced with pet dyes or mutators.

I kinda wish premium pouches had a firm 2 regular seed chance instead of 1 or 2. ><
As for the others -- I can say that I'm legitimately scared of trying that maze, so I don't have anything to comment further. ;;

@Flute,
I agree on not having the option of just 1 seed for the premium pouches given what it takes to get them.
It's not particularly scary -- at least I went into it 10 times lol. I'm kind of bummed how difficult it is to get avatar items though, got only 2. D: It would be nice if you could choose the avatar item you wanted given how low the chance of getting them is.

There's a lot of thought and reasoning that went into all of this and I will try to share as much as I can.
We specifically excluded all normal items because that's the very reason we ceased having the Wheel. There are a ridiculous amount of philters, dyes, mutators, etc in the game all because of the hundreds of thousands of Wheel spins over the past 1.5 years. Just as an example, there are about 15,000 pet dyes in the game atm.
This has created multiple issues for us such as a lot of players don't play and don't pay during non festival times because there's nothing that they need. A lack of content does contribute to this, but so does a lack of demand for premium (scale shop included) items.
So that is why those items were specifically excluded.
In regards to insufficient festival rewards, we tried to carefully balance everything. A simple change such as making premium seed pouches always give at least 2 pets would, just atm, have added about 1000 more plant pets to the game. With the volume of players playing atm, it doesn't take much for small changes to have huge implications.
Overall, we have been very pleased with how the Garden and Maze (post buff) have gone so far. We feel that everything is balancing out very nicely as it's rare enough to be valuable, but not too rare as to seem unobtainable.
I hope that helps to shed light on our reasoning behind this festival's features.

"Just as an example, there are about 15,000 pet dyes in the game atm." Not sure if this number is misleading or not. Just a guess, but while there are a lot of dyes in game, are a lot are hoarded in only a few users' inventories as well as those where the assosiated users are not active on the site?
Hmm I'm not sure how much it will affect non-festival participation, but worth a shot as a test. Interesting. Curious about other users, but for me it's definitely 100% lack of content. I only use dyes and mutators during festivals anyway.
I don't think the prizes are bad at all. Perhaps I am a more rare case, but the only items I look for in the maze are the non-gettable anywhere else avatar items. All other items are plant items, which I can sell, but...it's a pain to go through just for the avatar items which have a low chance of appearing and additionally, I don't know which I will get. Not sure what the norm is but I got 2 randomly chosen items in 10 tries. And haven't seen the one I want on the broker or anywhere. Perhaps because still early in the festival?
Just thinking randomly, since we are in the suggestion box: I would participate more in the plant event if you could plant avatar item seeds too.

I do suspect if the exclusive avatar items had been a bit more accessible from the maze, that people would be walking away from the experience a bit happier. The avatar items are strictly cosmetic, so having more of them doesn't really harm the economy, and the number of items in the maze was high enough to support return attempts enough that I don't think that would have negatively effected peoples interest in buying volume, either.

I mean we made them 100% chance to drop when fighting one of the named. For the Path of Dreams, the spawn chance is dictated by the mirror percentages. For the Path of Destiny, it's dictated by being balanced against the Path of Dreams because of the whole 3 guaranteed rooms to 2-6 rooms - thing.
So we can't really adjust one aspect without messing with the other aspects.
