I was curious how they worked, I know it says it adds on time, does it have any effects on Generated pets before the 3 days that a bred pet would normally take to hatch?

Asking in advance of posting a bug thread, just in case I just made a stupid mistake. |D

Magical pies don't work on eggs, they only work on adolescents.
Eggs and hatchling can age faster by getting nurture clicks and possibly page views.

I do understand that, but when you generate a pet from an essence it says minutes of age and adolescent.

Each pet has a numeric "maturity" rating, the magical pie will add a set amount to that number.. I think it's 144. When you use the pie it won't change the age of the pet, so it may say "2 days old" or whatever but it will have increased the maturity which determines whether it's a hatchling, adolescent or adult.

A pet's maturity can be found by right clicking the pet image and viewing the URL, the maturity is towards the end.

Egglings are 0-72
Hatchlings are 72-216
Adolescents are 216-600 something.

(By changing the maturity you can preview what a hatchling will look like as an adult)
