Have you ever notice that some breeding just turn funny? Some pair you have choosen made a kid that share NO color from his/her parents. Let me share my weird breeding experience.
Mother + Father = Kid (Exact order)

(From our Skype chat of me and my girfriend : @Sheechwan)

What the? My Alexander is GREEN and Jessy's like Red/Pink! How... it ended up BLACK?! o.o"
It got Blue-ish runes like his Father, just darker and the eyes are of her Mother~ owo
Otherwise, I see nothing in common lol!~ XD
Oh oh! Call her Mary!
Please share us your weird breeding experience. I want to see many strange miracles. =D

Well that's not too surprising. Red and green are two pure colors, so if they end up cancelling each other out at the end of breeding, then you would end up with black.
But she's a pretty girl!

She's just so adorable!
I didn't do any breeding much, but all my Male pet(adults one duh), can't wait to see their babies!
Especially my Bird one, he have a Speckle gene and will probably do cute things!~ <3333
Everyone love my Spranker :
Giving up to 4 babies up to now :
(Thank you Colormedark and her Suha for breeding with my cuty and look at this cuty!~ <3)
All others are from Sheechwan's Sylesties :
And there's one still in egg having still the same mother as the first of Shee's babies from my Spranker!~
I wonder how he got THESE color with my Spranker's brightness and Shee's Varianness' Greeness :
Purple is weird~
Can't wait it hatch!!!

It just depends on the swing of the hexes. I remember doing this a lot with PI breeding, especially when I was going for colors like light cyan or light magenta. I'd have to have a light blue and a light green and breed the two together until both the blue and green hexes were super high and that was the only way to do it.
So looking at yours Joe, Jessica has a body hex of 138|2|23. The 138 is Red, the 2 is green, and the 23 is blue.
I can't see Dad's because I cannot find him. But I wager he's probably something like 2|138|30.
How the breeding will then work is the game will find a number between those 2 numbers. So a number between 2 and 138? 29!
Between 2 and 138, 28!
between 23 and 30? 25?
And thus Mary ended up with 29|28|25 turning her a very dark but very even grey which is actually pretty lucky. It is far more likely to end up with a brown or an army green.

@Rosedawn
You can find her dad in MY Stables lol~ My boyfriend wanted to
have some more Egglings since I was having already tons so I let
him bred with the only Male Adult Zolnixi I had~ XD
And it ended up pretty beautiful~ <3
So it's something like that that it does?
Interesting, so if I want babies looking more like their parent, the
hex must be close?
Alexander(Dad)'s body Hex :
4|114|28
You was quite close to his color... o.o

Yes. The closer the better if you want the offspring to look the same or similar. But breeding different ones together can give you wildly varying results which is fun too!

I was more asking because I plan some "special" breeding and I'll prefer
the babies to look like the parents~ XD
But yes I love random results, sometime it's quite pretty, sometime
weird, but I sooooo need more Stables, I just love having tons of pets~ XD
Hope to have as much as possible to have place for all my breeding
projects~ <3
(It's going to be soooo complicated lol)

If you need any help I'm happy to do so. You can see my first breeding project in my board too. And right now a group of us are working on the ultimate reindeer.

Ultimate Reindeer?
One with all Genetics what?
If you get a pair you could make tons and sell them all~ o.o
That's kind of what I try to do, but a bit on my own ATM~ XD
Slowly, but surely, I'll have a pair with all genetics one day... o.o"
Otherwise I have a few smaller breeding project including
other pets I own that I find adorable and would like to have
some babies like them~ :3
My boyfriend's trying to do the same with his "Starter", I'm
helping him by making a Female that will match his Draeyl~ :3
Which seem to work, now to wait they're adults and breed
party start lol~ XD
Anyways, for the Reindeer Project, could you mail me the
details of it? I'll look if I'll try to join or not~ owo
For now I only have a Male with a horn and a Female
with Zebra Strippes that are adult, plus my generated one
because I couldn't find a good Pegasus-like for sale owo"
And I got some hatchling/egg of Reindeer that just wait
to grow up a bit owo
