So I was wondering.. in the wardrobe, there's items that say "Holiday Event Item"; does that mean that these items will come back at a certain time in the year?

Sometimes, they do, and sometimes they don't. It depends on how the item was given out to begin with. The zone items will generally come back again next year. The items from the Holiday Shop, or the Advent Calender usually will not.

Some retired items can be gained from Holiday Chests, however. Holiday Chests can be bought from the Holiday Shop usually, and contain a random item from whichever year they say in their name. (Ie: Spring Festival Chest (2013).

Oh, I see, is there any way of knowing how the item was given out? (Blazing Starlight Lion to be exact in this case c: ) I've tried looking around, but found nothing ^^;

That specific item came from the Holiday Shop. I wouldn't really expect it to return, as it's usually Held items that sometimes come back next year, and that is a back piece. Your best bet for acquiring that one would be to look into the trade broker here and there to see if anyone has it up for sale. They're quite expensive, though, as they originally cost quite a bit of holiday currency. ^^

I was afraid of that xD There's one on the broker and I nearly have enough to buy it so hopefully no one snags it between now and a day or two >v<
