So, basically I bought some pets who were 17 days old, today they were supposed to turn into adults(day 18). But they haven't... any ideas why?

this is because a generated pet takes 18 days to mature, while a hatched pet takes 27 days to mature.

Remember that maturity != age. You can only see a pet's maturity value via its image URL and if it's a generated or tested pet.

Also, when the site was taken offline for maintenance, I believe all pets had their aging frozen during that time, to prevent the pets from "suddenly" growing up and being hatched/released while the site is offline.

Here's what Krin was talking about:
Here is a random Aeri of mine that looked really neat as a hatchling and that is the soul reasoning behind my picking him:
Now, if you right click on a pet and copy the URL or description, you'll get this:
Note the maturity at the end...
https://www.sylestia.com/image_builder_pet.php?species=aeridini&breed=sylesti&gender=male&gd1=BB&gd2=AC&gd3=FF&md1=AC&md2=AA&md3=NA&ec=e38fdc&c1=131e37&c2=f5eed8&c3=ee836a&gd1c=878c6d&gd2c=7e93d3&gd3c=f3f56d&md1c=f7ede8&md2c=f9b6b6&md3c=abd1d7&maturity=648&owned=1&size=250
If I change that number to a lower value, say 140, he's a hatchling:
goodness he's pretty
You can use this little trick at any point during development to see where your pet is at. Once that number hits....240, it's an adolescent, and once it's.....648, it's an adult. The total for regular pets is 28 days. I'm not sure how that number translates to time, but you can still use it to keep track of things.
Hope that this isn't too overwhelming! Just a neat trick that seasoned users have found.
