And thaaaat's when I learned about the hidden gene! Because lemme tell you, I was pissed (at the time) that all four babies popped out with calico, when none of the parents had it as a vis or a carry. HIDDEN GENES ARE EVIL. I tried one more breeding pairing, and got a non-calicoed offspring--but just kidding, it's a hidden gene on her too! They are insidious.

Alright so this looks like a wild success, considering, but
this guy just hatched. His mother carries 4 and his father shows 2/ carries 2. He is the ideal offspring, as far as gp passed on go.
But my project is only a 3vis asdfghjertfv so close but so far ugh >:O

Granted, I had her before the owner tested the mother, so I had no idea what she was carrying. But even so, she should be carrying at least one thing from either parent, right? NOPE! She doesn't carry anything at all. She is just a blank case. :(
