Matthew Starr sat outside his office cum apartment, in the shade off a tree in his rented paddock. Nearby the Qitari Bluestar contentedly cropped grass as his master read a book on the ancient heroes of the past. The defeat of ancient villains like Tyrielle, the Arch Lich, the Myconids, and Vorkids, and of course not to forget the Ice queen. Back during what many termed as Sylestia's glory days. True things had settled down somewhat with civilization, but as a detective Matt still got plenty of cases to keep his business going. However, the past two weeks had been phenomenally slow. He had taken to spending most of his time outside whe nnot doing odd jobs around the suburbs of Ersior city. Life had come a long way since it had started out as a simple haven. The sound of a car driving past broke into his thoughts. He watched as it turned down the street that lead to his current home. Seeing the occupants heading towards his particular apartment he stood up. Pickingup his book and dusting himself off he remarked idly to his sylesti, "Looks like we may get a case after all."

(I know you havn't seen/accepted my character yet but I hope this is still ok, just excited to start and jump in)

Julius leaned up against the tree his phone held up in-front of him as if he was texting. But it was quite the contrary. He was watching everyone that went by. He made sure to take in small details they were key when creating a database. He was calculating numbers in his head and creating data about the people that walked by the town square. In his hand he was constantly typing in binary code that contained information about the people. It was simple really. 0s and 1s each combined to create a certain message that would register in his computer.
This was all but a hobby. He didn't do much else since he quit government contract work. After hacking into the government mainframe not much seemed to challenge him anymore. He glanced around and sighed as he finished typing and put the phone in his pocket. He had just finished collecting data on what time certain people got off of work. It seemed very unimportant but such data could be important when combined with other data. It was all in how you used it. Not that he planned on using it for anything anytime soon.

(Aaah! Yes! It's starting!)
Resa Jewel dashed through the streets of Esior City following one of two men suspected of breaking into several homes in the central district, otherwise known as the wealthy part of the city. The men abandoned their vehicle after running into a dead end, forcing Resa to give chase on foot. She sent her Ryori, Charisma, after the other man who had run off in a different direction. Resa caught up with the criminal easily and grabbed his arm. After hurling the tired man to the ground and cuffing him she read him his rights, which she had memorized, and dragged him off to her patrol car. Charisma was already waiting for her with the other suspect who was cowering on top of the car.
"I'm sorry, I'm sorry! Please, I won't do it again! Just don't let that THING near me!" He was obviously terrified.
Resa opened the rear door and shoved the criminal she'd caught inside. "Get in." She said sternly, cuffing the other man as he shakily got off the roof and into the back with his partner. She eyed the purple and aqua Ryori questioningly who returned her gaze with a look of pure innocence.
Upon returning to the station they were greeted by a very excited grey and red Lupora pup who immediately began barking at the two men as they were put into the holding cell.
"Ha! You tell 'em, Courage." Police Chief William Yett praised the little guard Sylestie which only made him bark more furiously while Resa sat down at her desk to do paperwork. "He's about ready to go out into the field, don't you think, Resa?"
"Yes, sir." Resa replied, only half listening. She was bored, catching domestic thieves was too easy and she wished something interesting would happen soon.

(Yay! It's started!)
Tormar Verduran stood, absentmindedly scratching under the chin of Thunder, a brown-furred Griffi. He closed the book he had been reading, returning it to it's rightful place on the bookshelf. "I'm bored. What about you bud?" He asked. Thunder shook his head, nipping gently at Tormar's sleeve. "Hey!" Tormar pulled his arm away, gently caressing the material as he might a young Bulbori. "You know I don't like that . . ."
He took the jacket off, giving the sleeve a thoughrough inspection before putting it on again. Tormar turned to Thunder, "Now that that's settled, what should we do?" The sound of police sirens outside the library's window rang loudly, causing a commotion as people rushed to get a glimpse of the action. What could that be? He thought to himself, also moving over to a window. "Well, I guess I'm not bored anymore . . ."

(Tell me if I did it correctly. I've written stories, but the last RP I've done was on the comments on a Nook, and that doesn't really count. Also, I'll try making my posts longer in the future.)

(I think it's good but I don't RP much so I don't know if my opinion counts)

"You're sending me out again? But I've got paperwork to do." Resa sounded as if she were complaining but she was just happy to have a distraction from the boring files and documents.
"So does everyone else. Besides, it's just a trespasser in that old warehouse near the library, a perfect first mission for your little Courage." Chief Yett patted the young Lupora pup on the head. He let out a tiny howl as if agreeing with the old man. "And I can get someone else to take care of that paperwork while you're out."
"Yes, sir." She agreed quickly and picked Courage up while motioning for Charisma to follow her.
As they arrived at the warehouse Resa turned the siren off. It wasn't really necessary but Courage loved to howl along with it. She hadn't noticed before but the siren had attracted a crowd to the area. ~Ugh, great~ she thought to herself.
"Charisma, you stay outside and make sure no civilians follow us." Charisma let out a small complaining noise. "I know it's boring but we don't know if this trespasser is armed or not." She made another small growl before finally making a place for herself on top of the large, concrete wall surrounding the warehouse. Resa made her way to the gate and entered, feeling the eyes of everyone in the crowd on her and on Courage who was happily trotting along next to her.

(Ok. I was just wondering.)
Tormar walked away from the window, quickly gathering up his belongings. After briefly thanking the librarian for her excellent taste in literature, he began to squeeze his way through the crowd that had formed at the library's doors. "What is it about someone getting arrested that always draws a crowd?" Tormar asked Thunder. The Griffi had flown out, leaving Tormar to push through on his own.
Thunder tilted his head, a quizzical gleam in his eyes. By now Tormar had remembered his sword and, now completely out of patience, was threatening to skewer someone if the crowd didn't let him pass. "C'mon people! It's only the police! You can go back to whatever you were doing now." Tormar shouted. When no one heeded his empty threat to skewer someone, he had reverted to the age-old method of holding one's arms out in front, palms together, thumbs facing upwards, and pushing through. It was an old method, but one that usually worked. In Tormar's case it worked perfectly, allowing him to slide through the throng as if he was swimming.
Thunder at his side, Tormar confidently walked up to the warehouse. "I hear this is where all the action is . . ."

Charisma noticed a man and his Griffi approach the warehouse and jumps in front of them, letting out a warning growl as Resa closed the gate behind her. "There's no action." She told him through the gate. "It's just a trespasser, probably a teenager looking to tag an unmarked wall. Please go back to your own business."

Matt had heard the sirens faintly in the distance, but at the moment his insatiable curiosity was on other matters. He had come up behind the people just as they began knocking on his front door. "May I help you?," He inquired. All three individuals jumped. Two older men and a wealthy looking young woman. " We were looking for the detective." One of the men said gruffly, "Although I don't see how that's any business of yours. " Matt shrugged, "Perhaps although you may find it a poor practice trying to intimidate the person you were trying to hire." The young woman stepped forward. "You must forgive my bodyguards, we were not expecting you to be out here." Matt inclined his head, "Understandable, now if you will allow me to show you inside we can discuss your reasons for coming here in a more private location."

Thoron took a step back, hands raised in mock surrender. He grinned, "My apologies miss. I heard sirens and simply followed the crowd."
Thunder growled at Charisma, hackles raised. "You'll have to forgive him. He's not used to being told what to do by someone other than myself." Tormar remarked. "And as for returning to my business . . ." he turned just in time to see the librarian turning her keys, locking up for the night. "I seem to be locked out. I'm Tormar by the way."
