So, I'm wondering- why are some of the eggs in the scale shop considerably more expensive than others? I thought certainly that the most costly egg there had to contain a pretty interesting Sylesti, so saved up. What I got? the dullest brown, unadorned one possible. So, I figured maybe it made a difference would be in the stats! Alas, he's as normal as store bought apple pie .
Is there a point to saving up for the pricey ones, or are they all utterly random?

The Scale Shop owner is an expert when it comes to handling Egglings. They know a rare Eggling when they see one and make you pay appropriately for it.

@Daevoted
You could use a Genetic Test Kit to see what's still hidden

Yep. Scale bought Egglings are Captured pets. So you can dye and mutate them.

Mutations also don't show up when they are hatchlings. So she could grow up and have some mutations.
