Hey everyone! I have been on her for a little over a month now and I have begun to realize it is not as much fun when I am all on my own and I begin to feel lonely. I think I have 2 friends that I never talk to or I just never see on and I feel the need to get to know more Sylestians :) I know there is a chat box in areas but I didn't see many people in them when I got on, and then when the festival came there were so many most of my comments just got overlooked and I sort of decided to stop posting during floods of conversations. I hope this thread will give me and everyone else an opportunity to get to know some new people and make some friends to possibly make Sylestia that more enjoyable. So here is just a little hangout of mine, I might link you all to events or games I do later as well or award random Sylesties to random people once I get more and get further into Sylestia. But right now the purpose is just to allow everyone especially (shyer) newbies like me to get to know people and make friends.

Hola! First off lemme say that this is a pretty neat idea! As the general chat does sometimes get flooded but I think it was mainly due to the festival that everyone suddenly started to swamp the chat. xD Even I still get washed out from time to time too but you can always make a side chat to bring friends into! But I think now that since the fest is over things will start to cool down and the place shouldn't get too bad.

Anywho my name is Lunar! A pretty common internet name as well but its just something that stuck with me xD I'm pretty much an all around internet nub but its fun =p

My week has been alright, pretty hectic due to the fest but I'm so glad its over! xD Since I've got art requests piled up and waiting and pets to breed and oh gosh so much I pushed off for this fest. *flops and sobs*

But it was fun! I'm looking forward to the winter fest though! I missed it last year so I'm hoping I can catch it this year <XD

I think the Region Chat is quite hectic as well. xD;

That, and I don't really like talking in there myself. Sometimes, I find the conversations a little cumbersome, so I just lurk.

The last week of the Fall Festival have been...topsy turvy lol.
Spent a lot of gold, and now I've been scrambling to sell my pets for diamonds, and diamonds for gold, to earn it all back.
Irl, university life has its ups and downs too. I'm happy today is a holiday. Many of my friends did stuff like go home or play games. I mainly slept in.
Though, I find playing Sylestia and talking/helping others a hobby that takes my mind off of things, so. Sylestia helps me feel better. xD;

Hi! I'm Dracorai. Mainly for reasons already mentioned, along with being on other sites where I've been skipped over in conversations, I haven't really ever chatted anywhere. This was an amazing idea, btw.
In answer to you're question, today hasn't been off to a great start after my cat woke me up at 1:00 in the morning...hopefully the rest of the day wil be better.
On a happier note, the festival was awesome! I do need to work on possibly saving some of my gold. I managed to go from having 300k to having only 1,000, and am working to get it all back before the winter fest.

It is nice to meet you Lunar! I am so glad you think this is a good idea, I was hoping it would get some attention! So glad people thought it was a good idea as well! I didn't know you could make a side chat, but like I said I don't really have many friends and I am still in the beginning areas as I try and progress further in the storyline. But I hope things do cool down a bit more, but not too much. Since i guess i am still a bit behind my areas I am in usually don't have many people. I've typed and had no one reply :(
Goodness! Yea i put a lot of time into the fest as well as gold, well as much as I could put in since I didn't have too much saved up haha. But it was a lot of fun although I didn't have much luck getting many themed but oh well, it was my first festival so I am sure the best is to come....and you do arts! So cool I always wished I had artistic talent. All mine went into drumming and sports XD. I hope you find time to get all your arts done! Btw what art style do you do like is it just sketches or digital etc?

Hey! Nice to meetcha Flute! I played percussion in High school haha, band was a lot of fun. But yea I understand the lurking thing I liked to look and see what people got in the chat although it made me envious sometimes haha I think i caught a few themed but they have very little visuals etc. Yea my gold is suffering mostly due to buying avitar items, I can't tell you how much I love that features of this site, I have been on sights of just avitar building communities and sites that are just breeding but nothing like this, and I think it is so awesome.
I feel you on university life, it has kept me really busy especially as I push towards the end of the semester and I get all my big assignments. Still envious you had a holiday off yesterday when I didn't haha.
But that is so cool, I think playing Sylestia helps me unwind a bit as well, its always good to have that one thing you can go to when you just need to relax and unwind especially to get away from school work.

Hello Dracorai; awesome name and username btw :D. And thanks again for the support for my idea, I didn't know if it would be a good thing to make at first and I had my doubts, but its already gotten attention which is amazing! So happy!
Lol those cats. I miss mine, I live in an apartment near my university now and my poor kitty is stll at home with my family and I don't get to see any of my pets anymore so I miss them a lot. But I know how the cat thing is, they have no boundaries or sense of time. I think I saved up about 500k gold before the festival and I was very proud of myself I did missions nonstop for gold and stuff and then bam the festival hit with all its items and stuff and since i was a noob I bought some avatar items early on before they became less expensive cuz I didn't think of that ahead of time haha. So I was down to almost 0 at one point but I am back to almost 100k now XD Like I stated earlier I have a weakness for avatar items cuz I absolutely love making avatars. I make a new one almost every week.

I keep finding myself buying more and more avatar items from the trade broker and then changing my avatar. XD. On a side note, I feel like everyone here is so much older than I am, or is that just me?

Lol that is all based on how old you are. That may probably be true. NO offense but most younger people arn't too interested in the whole animal breeding thing, doesn't fit their attention spans, thats my guess haha. But there are probably a lot of other younger people here. I'm 20 myself. I don't really ask people so I don't know what the average age is on here.

Ah, I'm turning 16 in March, so that's probably why. I actually want to go into either wildlife photography or some kind of animal-based science, and the idea of virtual pet breeding is something I really like. I also just really like how interactive sylestia is compared with other virtual pet sites.

As for ages, I also don't assume other peoples' ages. It really isn't important to me, so long as I'm able to communicate with another person. I find people of all ages play all sorts of games (I used to play Neopets, Gaia, and some other MMO when I was younger than most of my friends/guildmates, and now as I get older, I see other younger players aha), and so long as everyone's acting with conduct, it isn't worth minding. o:

I do remember some younger members in chats saying "i wonder if i'm the youngest person on the site??" ...it kinda strikes me odd, because as much as it sparks someone's curiosity, I can't help to be my age. xD; And if young kids at the age of...less than 10 can comprehend most video games, I'm sure most people can figure out how to play on this site. *w*;

Wow thats pretty cool! I actually am a Geographic Science Major and I do a bunch of Wildlife management projects. Right now i'm tracking wolf movements and migration in different reservation areas with GPS collars in order to map out their territories for the reservationists so they can know more about their movements and how they may be effecting other aspects of the reservation. Its pretty cool and i have so much fun. I actually don't get to interact with the wolves of course, the reserve puts the collars on them and all, I just get the data I need to put into a GIS in order to make awesome maps of wolf territories. Basically their data shows up as a dot on the map, i get a good amount of data for each one, about one point for every 4 hours or so. Some of them vary based on the type of GPS collar. So i can track their movements over time its so much fun its like i'm spying on all the little wolfies. XD Well i rambled on enough about this.
But I really love how interactive this is too, how you can battle and there is actually a storyline and everything its so awesome, I immediately became addicted.

Yea I agree. Sometimes I'll have a guess in my mind when I meet someone how old they are (lets admit we all generally do this subconsciously) then it blows my mind somewhere down the road when I find out they re much younger/older. When your online age can be really general and honestly unimportant in most aspects unless there are mature areas on the site. Sometimes you can guess peoples age, their literacy sometimes gives it away, but other times it is hard if they are really literate. I don't really care too much about age it is awkward though when someone i have been friends with for a while is just like. "Yea i'm 8 years old" I am like "MY YOUNGEST BROTHER IS 10!" Awkward....lol But yea I grew up playing games young. I think my first real MMO was Runescape when I was 12 or 13.
