"Welcome! Welcome!
Please, come make yourselves comfortable, I have a story in which may interest you to hear. A tale of a Warrior out to prove his worth, and, though he faces many trails and dangers, he hopes to come out triumphant at the end. Would you like to hear how the story ends? Ah, then take this blanket and wrap it around you; lets go back to the beginning of the story......."

Prologe
"MistFlame! Get AmberHoney! WhisperingWinds is hurt badly!" DarkRivers yowled as he dragged his brother into the moist, damp cave he and his clan called home. He and his brother had gone out to patrol and had been ambushed by two foxes. Trying to outrun them hadn't worked and fighting their way out had been almost life threatening.
"Bring WhisperingWinds over here, DarkRivers!" AmberHoney called from her Herb den, which always smelled sweet and tangy inside.
"What happened?" She asked as he neared, MistFlame helping him carry his half conscious brother through the den opening.
"Two foxes ambushed us." He answered, his breathing still labored from carrying his brother back to camp, "we tried to run, but they were faster. Is WhisperingWinds going to be ok?" He asked as AmberHoney examined his brother's side and head, prodding his body with a paw every so often to check for broken bones.
"BlackRaven, get me some cobwebs and wet moss!" She yelled to her apprentice.
Turning back to DarkRivers, she said, "your brother needs some rest, and so do you, please go take a nap while i tend to WhisperingWinds, and I'll let you know when he's woken up. You'll do your brother no good staying here worrying about him." And with a dismissive wave of her tail, she turned back to his brother.
With a nod, he turned and walked out of the Herb den, and over to the sandy cave in the far west corner of the cave, known as the Resting Den, where all the clan slept. It was warm and cozy, the cave walls had ivy growing up them and in the back, was a small pool, which was the main source of water without having to leave camp.
Curling up in his nest of bird down, moss, and ivy leaves, DarkRivers fell into a peaceful sleep.

Chapter 1
"RiverRock! Gather the apprentices for training. Today we'll train in the open fields." FastBreeze ordered as she past him at the Prey Heap, munching on a Shrew.
"FastBreeze, Lightpaw has a cold, she won't be able to join in the group training today." QuickAsh called across the clearing from his Healing den.
"Alright," turning back to RiverRock who was a few pawsteps from the small cave that was where the apprentices slept, she meowed to him"RiverRock! Leave Lightpaw be, she has a cold, but go head and gather the others."
Waving his tail in acknowledgement, he weaved through the Ivy and went in.
"Swiftpaw, Leafpaw, Cardinalpaw, and Volepaw, gather by the Prey Heap so we can prepare to head out for training." he meowed.
"Will the deputy be joining us?" Swiftpaw asked. He was just made an apprentice last night, so he was still learning some of the cats names.
"You mean FastBreeze? Yes, she and I will be training you all today at the open field." Beckoning with his tail for them to follow, he turning and walked out, only to find his sister starring at him a few tail lengths away.
Walking over to her, he asked, "is something wrong HareFur?" He inquired, though she was his sister, she lately had been asking secretive.
"Everything's fine RiverRock!" She purred assuringly,"i was just watching you go about your duties. So taking the apprentices out for training with FastBreeze, are we?" She asked, purring with slight amusement and glaring at him, a mischievous look in her eyes.
"We're just clanmates, nothing more." He answered, giving her an annoyed look. Just because he used to have feelings for FastBreeze before she was made deputy, didn't mean he did now. She had too many new duties, and having a mate and kits couldn't be one of them, It'd be too distracting.
"And anyways, she's Deputy now and hasn't the time for a mate and kits, you know that as well as everyone else." He said, and with a dismissive flick of his ear, walked over to the four apprentices gathering around FastBreeze.
"Are we all ready?" She asked as he walked up.
"Yes."
"Good, then let's head out!"

Chapter 2
As they walked through the forest, he could hear the apprentices chatting about hunting moves to Swiftpaw. He purred, remembering how it had felt to be that young, not a worry in the world except to train hard and become a full fledged Warrior.
"RiverRock." Jerking out of his thoughts, he saw FastBreeze trotting over to him and as she neared, she matched his pace.
"Today I think we'll go over some of the hunting techniques." she meowed as she glanced over her shoulder at the apprentices.
Tunring back to him she continued, her golden amber eyes gazing into his.
"Now that Swiftpaw is joining us, he'll need to learn, and its always good to go over hunting moves." she said, suddenly tilting her hand and glancing at him with curiosity.
"What was your sister talking to you about before we left?" She asked casually, though curiosity burned clearly in her gaze.
"Oh, it was nothing important." he answered quickly, feeling himself growing a little hot.
"You know, just visiting about how Lightpaw couldn't join us for training." he finished, searching for something else to talk about to change the subject.
"Hey!" Leafpaw yowled after them, "Are we getting there soon, or are we planning on taking a couple hours? At the pace we're walking, a snake could get there faster!" he meowed, glaring impatiently at FastBreeze and RiverRock.
"Keep your pelt on Leafpaw!" turning to face him, FastBreeze hissed, clearly annoyed by the tom's complaint, "We're a few pawsteps away from the training area, and we're not going to hurry because you're here to learn, not rush through your training. Impatience isn't something I put up with when I'm training apprentices. If you wish to be a warrior, then be patient and pay attention to what I and RiverRock teach you," Glancing at the other apprentices, she continued, directing the words to all of them,"because if any of you aren't prepared, because you weren't paying attention, and end up in a battle, you very well could be badly injured, or even die. Now, I'm sure no cat wants that," turning back to Leafpaw she added,"now, are you done complaining, Leafpaw? If so we'll start."
Nodding, a look of annoyance mixed with acceptance in his eyes, but he said nothing and followed the deputy and RiverRock into the training area.
