So I have been pinged three times today, and I have checked all three, and deleted them from the ping box at the top of the forums, but the notifications with the little "@" sign in the header bar aren't going away, and in the old layout sections of the site, "Forums" is remaining highlighted in orange to tell me I have new pings. I do not have any new pings. Is this a widespread issue?

They're probably offline/resting now. lol. I'm sure Krin will get back on this as soon as he can. He's usually quite fast in solving bug problems. =)

Yes me too, also the eggling ready to hatch symbol also does not work anymore.

The egglings ready to hatch notification had been disabled for a while now, due to performance issues.
On the new layout, the account notifications (with exception to the "New Items" notification and "Egglings Ready to Hatch") should now all properly work.
The only other relevant piece of information is that for the "New Private Messages" notification, it only tracks the last 72 hours. Unread messages beyond 72 hours are not tracked.
Please let me know if you have any issues with the system.
Edit: Due to performance issues, I've removed the counter for Egglings ready to hatch. It was causing too many lag spikes. Sorry.
