had to single out the question to answer it lol
"is it hard to sell pets when you have lots of stables and species ?"
no.
because whether pets sell depend on whether they fit the preferences of the people who buy it. doesn't depend on you/your stables.
Having species variety helps, and so does organizing your stables, if that's what you're asking.
What you're asking, if its "worthwhile to pay all that food and spaces vs the actual selling rate of their pets" varies from seller to seller.
Not all players are sellers, but in my opinion, it REALLY helps to be able to get money NOT JUST from selling pets. (I for example do not sell any pets as my main income)
By doing missions, you get enough income to cover food/spaces. (It only takes me 3k a day to feed all 580+ of my pets.)
(here is Zarhail's "Breeding to sell" guide. it says here that it takes initial investment (in the second post) to even start breeding to sell (because you're paying gold to keep up your pets and stables), so it's only imperative that you have gold BEFORE you start selling pets anyways)
Again, whether your pets sell is based on the preference of the buyers. So breeders who sell wheel offspring or 6vis pets or stat pets are WAY different from people who haphazardly breed, or have only begun breeding.
Not only that, I kinda assume that if you sell wheel offspring/stat pets/6vis pets, you're an experienced player, who, at that point, knows how to get gold besides selling pets. Which means to them, their situation of feeding their stables or having many pets is independent of whether their pets sell.
If most players don't have selling pets, they either release the pets or cut their prices. But I think a good way to ensure your stables are fed is to figure out how to feed them without selling their pets at all.
There are players who just hoard pets endlessly instead of selling them, and they still manage to feed their stables when they don't sell aha.

edit: I should probably answer this in my point of playing mode anyways...sorry if I came off like a pedant orz
I only really sell my old themed pets that came from like...2013. Was it worth keeping them for practically a year to sell later? Was it worth feeding them for a year, and spending all the gold to do so?
Considering I don't sell pets for income, but instead do missions (earning 5k-6k per 12hr mission or so), the feed didn't bother me.
The fact is that I was gambling on the hope that my pets would inflate in price if I waited months and months, to even a year. I'd have diamonds and thousands of gold offers for my Spooky Ryoris, that I turned down in fear of losing out on a bigger profit if I waited longer. So my trade, to sell themed pets a year after they come out, is based on waiting for so long, and buying them feed (or not and letting them stay unconscious in my stables).
Recently, I sold a Festive Griffi (from Winter Festival 2013) for 500 diamonds and 1mil. I think it was worth it, if all it took was feeding it about 200g a day for a year or so.
Mind you that I chose to buy more stables and take on the responsibility to have more pets and feed them all than just the themed pets I choose to keep just to sell. ^^; |
