I'm just curious to know, I find qitari and nyvene quite popular but I was wondering which sylesti were the most unpopular ones, any idea?

long wall of text because I rant orz

I find all the fabled pets popular aha.
Because they're just generally...cooler, I guess. That isn't my opinion, but imo, most people like breeding with them more. It helps that they're wheel pets, and thus have that notoriety.

Unpopular ones I'd think would be morkko and draeyl and the sylvorpa. And maybe lunemara and kelpari.
Some normal pets (morkko/draeyl/svlvorpa) aren't exactly they coolest. Thankfully, the draeyl is getting a redraw. The redraws revitalized the Vulnyx, so maybe the draeyl redraw will do the same. c:
As for morkkos, their genes are nice, but their mutations are like trying to cover a square canvas; it doesn't work out so well or are too fashionable. I personally like morkkos, but only with a nice gene combo.
Lunemara are kelpari are normally accessible in the lvl50-60 zones (or in festival zones, kelpari and sylvorpa being in the water), so they may be unpopular just because no one gets around to them as easily as the other species.

I personally like all pets, but it also depends on what genes/mutations look nice for each species. Along with that is demand, of course. Demand for fabled wheel pets is much higher than normal pets, especially if the traits are nice.

In terms of rarest pet, I'd think lunemara and morkko are pretty rare. (Draeyls too)
But not because they're hard to find, but because of unpopularity.

ACTUAL RAREST pets are themed nephinis aha.

As you know ((even if u don't remember))
I put my effort into stat breeding and having strong pets and from there I will give them away to newcomers if they are nice or sell them for arena fighters who don't want to stat breed themselves or anything that comes in the way.

My first project is almost halfway with pets above 40+ stats in the hatchery but I was looking for rare pets to stat breed them too and make them useful ibattle to give the species some sort of attention boost haha.

I will pick daeryl next so far I have a zolnixi project and some others in preparation like a second zolnixi project with different mutations than the first one, a qitari project and lastly the new daeryl project ^_~

Well, in the end, all species have the same stat cap, so I suppose that's good. o:

Often, popularity is often scaled in terms of fame and fortune.
So I'd think popularity would depend on whether a user liked or disliked a certain pet (for either its art or its genes/mutations), and/or how much it cost to others (ie fabled pets cost more than normal pets, stat pets cost more than regular pets).

I don't think you can force popularity or attention, even when giving out pets aha. Popularity and attention comes naturally by how events unfold (ie draeyls being re-released can be the big attention-booster, or the release of a new species shifts attention away from other pets and towards new ones).
But I think it's good that you want to try and do stat projects in unpopular species.

In the end, most people will gravitate towards what they like, despite whether it's popular opinion or not. So I'd stick to my thought that as long as you like what you're doing, you should keep doing it. c:

Selling them wouldnt be bad either, this stat thing is quite expensive, calculated that ill need about twelve million gold to max one project only.

I'm not having such good luck finding a good combination of gene/mutation on adv search for daeryls lol

My first zolnixi project is a common looking one with tritails, cometmoth and talismans

So I'm starting 2nd project using dif mutations, if all goes good in the end ill have maxed pets with six differemt mutations to mix

Maybe I ditch the daeryl idea and just concentrate on maxing nixi and qitari with dif mutations

But they are so common haha
In fact trait breeding is more common than stat breeding, or at least that's what it looks to me.

But beauty and glamour wont help me beat bosses easier ^_~

So ill for stats first and hope for a random good mix mutations later

I would definitely say Morkkos are the least popular. Personally, I feel the genders aren't really the same style and kinda look like two similar but different bear species.

In my mind, the Luffox is the lest popular, even though logically I know it's not true. I just...their design rubs me the wrong way. It's like they're trying to be super cute, but failing miserably. I picture them like the old hairy guy at the anime convention who is dressed in super cute pastel lolita style -- just kind of boggles your brain because it's trying to process two different stimuli at once. Or like when you see someone who has all the right features to be super attractive, but they just don't seem to gel right together and you think "so close, but so far" and it makes them even less attractive than they are in reality. *panting* Whew, I guess I needed to get that off my chest!

I don't understand the dislike so many people have for the Sylvorpa, though. The males aren't necessarily the most attractive, but the females are super cute! They remind me of a cross between a dolphin and a dog. Maybe I'm just biased because I use one as my tank. She was the second pet I ever caught with a trap, and she's really grown on me despite her garish, Barney-esque purple/green colour combo. I have thought about dyeing her, but I think I would almost be sad to see her changed at this point...

I am excited for the Draeyl redraw, though. I always wanted to like them, because I love reptiles, but they're just not very attractive compared to the other pets.

P.S.
Does anyone have screenshots or saved images of the Vulnyx before their redraw? I'm so curious to see what they looked like before!
