So I got a bit bored and decided to do some art of my current avi



and I was looking back at stuff from earlier this year, and I realised that in the last year (really since joining Sylestia, cos I hadn't drawn for years before finding the site) I have really improved my art. Well at least I think I have..

its so embarrassing showing some of the stuff off.


I should note that I am absolutely terrible at *gets the list out* Hair, eyes (always have one good one and one crap one) hands feet, Men (damn they always look so girly..)

So here are some of the other things I have done, I will only post stuff related to the site, (done for other Sylestia players or about the site itself)

My first attempt at art for a good 4 years was a surprise avi for Lostwords13, back about this time year I believe.

Drawn and inked on paper, photographed and coloured in PS Elements.. (such a crapy old PS..) Yeah I didn't have a scanner at this time.. I have one now.. tho its not yet set up.. (3 damn months of it not being set up!!)

I was trying new ways of colouring hair and shading. I don't know why I decided her boobs should look so much like grapefruit.. bad Willow!
(On a note about shading you will prolly see my technique change heaps.. I have no singular style, just depends on how lazy I am feeling at the time as to what I do..)


Next was Starfall's Halloween Avi.. that was fun to do, but really damn challenging, THOSE WINGS FTW!!

But god I really messed up on the head and hair.. *Hides in shame, so embarrassed!*

And then I tried to do something different, a sort of chibi style (though I fail at Chibi..) Black in Batman PJs (cough onsies)

Drawn and unfortunately inked on paper *the hands were fine till I inked it T-T * then coloured in PS elements.
Not that you can actually tell that its Black.. the only recognition is his beard..

and that is the end of last years art.. (finally she says, can we get to some better work Maybe?)

This year I have been focusing more on OC stuff, and story writing but every now and then I get a need to draw something else..

For instance, Earlier this year Zarhail held a contest (well I am pretty sure it was this year and not last, it took foreva to be judged.. in fact *Eyes Zar* I don't remember it actually being announced the winners...) meh

Drawn and inked on paper, then coloured on CS6 (ohh Shiny, look who got a new PS for xmas. Didn't get it till late January but it was an xmas pressie lol)

See what I mean about girly guys.. I had to close his eyes because I just couldn't draw non girly eyes, poor Zar T-T Bet you cannot guess the influence for the vial of Ghostly Shadows, (not really its pretty easy aha...)

Then suddenly I found something, something that would change my life FOREVER!!!

The pen tool on PS.. *Yes I know it was always there leave me alone* [Guppy swim in her bowl]

and I decided to try it out, on an OC of NightbaneWolf's

ooh dem lines! (but the mouse is very tiring, I should get a tablet!)
It was supposed to be a wolf dragon horse thing, I drew a crocodile with horns instead lol.. But I am very proud of it so a happy Willow.

I totally forgot about my entry for Eimell's art contest, which I am really proud of lol

Have you noticed, that instead of taking the nice simple road of someone standing still upright I have to try all these damn complex poses, WHY!! Usher in the era of not shading, what a lazy bum!

and today I decided to try art in the style of one of my fav Manga artists, Takada Rie, and drew my avi.

QwQ I want to draw more like them.. THOSE EYES!! I am so happy at how this turned out :)

A couple of updates on my art.

1) I hate drawing guys! really need to work on that aha QwQ, they either look really girly or IDK weird.

the first image ever that I didn't put pen to paper first before doing a digital work. drawn for an art/story contest for Black. Black and Waycrazy are depicted.


2) I really need to practice drawing a chibi style that fits me..

These are a couple of OC's for Maddy as a xmas gift. the one snuggled in its tail was drawn on paper and inked in PS while the one with the pillow was drafted and inked in PS.

3) Dragons are hard too!

again another xmas gift, this time for Waycrazy, of her OC Esme when she was younger. I really like how this one came out. I have never tried children before, and that side on view was hard to do esp the hair. drawn on paper and inked in PS.

and I have finally gotten a tablet :D so good bye mouse drawings hello pen and tablet! (JK I will prolly still mouse some things)

Be nice ya'll this was my first ever go at drawing with the tablet, literally half an hour after I unwrapped it aha. I am still getting used to it eek..

Have been doing requests seeing as I have been bored in GC. tho first Black hopped into the GC for a total of five seconds and caused an explosion of fan girls before he sploded himself


Was fun drawing a distraught me surrounded in confetti.

And then did a comish for Clarice of Toy Bonni? (IDK what its called but it creeped me out something wicked.) So I messed about with it...

You have improved extremely Willow! Great job!!! Those are some gorgeous artworks, especially the one of Way and Black!!! *applauds*

I think you draw guys well. Better than me. I think you just need to emphasis the face differently.

For making guys faces look less girly:
- the mouth could be more skin toned (less pink)
- Eyes smaller. Or rather the pupil smaller.
- Eyebrows thicker
- Jaw line sharper, less smooth/round. This can be emphasized with the shading as well. The jaw in particular really changes the entire feel of the face.

Other than that, just be careful not to elongate the head too much.
(Hope you don't mind, I drew over your drawing a little bit just for example, x )
