Well, it's like when you get a new student in class. It's been a while, but they came to the school so they can learn. It's natural. So, thanks for letting me join (And, you knew something like this was gonna happen, right?) and if you don't want me to join right now, just let me know, ok?

Name: Nunsil
Gender: female
Species: Nuckelavee
Student or Staff: student
Preferred weapon: poisonous bite and withering breath
History: Once, decades ago, a mare fell in love with the sea. She was a frail but proud andalusian, with beautiful but thinning grey-white coat and flowing mane. She rejected her own kind, seeking the company of aquatic creatures instead. The owner of the hefty workhorse was worried for the mare, and tried to fence her off from the salt waves she spent so much time wading in and the sand that was always sparkling in her mane and tail.
The mare became pregnant, having mated with a sturdy, handsome hackney stallion. It was miraculous that in her deteriorating health and slowly advancing age that this could happen. Still, even with child growing ever closer to taking on life of it's own, she was not content. The mare escaped her bonds, and she ran. She cantered until she could go no further by that way, and then she swam. Deeper, deeper into the sea. On her final month of pregnancy she had reunited with the sea, and drowned.
This was not the way the oceans had wanted it to be. They had their hippocampi, their kelpi, their sea beasts and air beasts, but something, some sort of conscious, wished for something new. Someone new.

Before the mare had drowned, she had given birth in the water to a strange beast. It was not horse nor fish nor man, but the creature it birthed was something between. It bore the appearance of a foal with translucent fur and skin that was far too thin for a land-dweller, gills that could open and shut, and the ability to cut through the water like a fish. On it's back was the upper torso of a human man with the jaws of some bearish beast, but the creature itself was female. Nunsil, as she knew her name to be from the moment of her birth, was happy. She had drank the milk of the strange, dying creature from which she came, and snuggled up to her fleeting warmth until it was warm no more. Eager to investigate this strange world, the infant paddled furiously with all six of her limbs, always searching, always investigating, always learning. Her noxious breath never harmed the fish she swam with, nor did it wilt the sea-grasses and kelp she feasted on. Still, she was inspired by the leaping makos an dolphins. She knew that some creatures breathed air from watching the gulls, dolphins, and whales, but she had never explored up. Only down.

Nunsil went down, down into the oceans where the only light came from bioluminescent denizens of the deep, where the warmth came from below in bubbles that smelled similar to her poison, but made her feel sick. Down where the fish were strange, and crustacians ruled. Down to where she could go no further without losing the ability to breathe, where her bones creaked and her fragile form bruised. She went up, to where she could watch the sun and clouds, to where she could peak her head out of the ocean and breath air as easily as water, where if she stayed too long she could become burnt and itchy, and too dry for her taste. She was twenty the first time she set foot on land, and it amazed her.

Men were terrified of her, and she was of them, the creatures coughed and sputtered whenever she gave one a friendly nuzzle, her transparent membrane that served as skin dried and thickened, and she could not move as freely. The plants were delicious, sweet apples, bitter current, crunchy fescue and reeds, but the water was... strange. It had little or no taste, and it made her feel ill. When she touched it, she felt that it would not support her weight like seawater, and it made her skin crack and hooves soften when she tried to swim in it. She could not breathe in it nor could she maneuver as effectively. It was not long before she learned to stay close to shore and during the day descend into the depths from whence she came.

She discovered her human form by accident, but when she found it, it was not long before she began imitating the humans, clothing herself like them and learning to talk like them.

Age: 43 (physically 22 in human form)
Personality: A curious, adaptable sort with an affinity for swimming, but only in salt water. She is fun-loving and playful, but also selfish and mischievous. She does not bore easily as long as she is in some way engaged in the task, but lacks focus and self-direction. She has a good sense of direction and strong instincts, and loves to explore on foot- or more comfortably, on hoof. She has a love of learning, of word games and poetry in particular, but is lacking in physical strength. She adores cattle and has a slight fear of dolphins, and shies away from arid places and from fire. She likes apples, molasses, and turnips but food that is too rich or acidic makes her feel ill. She is very, very wary of physical sports and activity, but by no means shy to approach others, although she is careful not to breath too close to the faces of others.
Human form (N/A for Humaniod class): A woman of about 5'5, Caucasian and very pale skinned. she is of feminine figure and slight build, not quite underweight but thinner than she'd like to be. She looks rather ill, alternately pale or flushed and ever with tired eyes. Her hair is rich brown, fine and silken. Her eyes alternate between bright orange and crimson, but are usually bright orange.

Monster form: A large, tall, clear-skinned, furless mare, with the upper body of a man sprouting from her upper back. The human portion of her body has webbed, clawed fingers and a single, central orange eye. The horse head also bears a central orange eye.
Other:

She can breathe noxious fumes that can cause trouble breathing, itching, nausia, and general unwell if inhaled for more than a few minutes directly. She cannot drink fresh water, nor swim in it for long

Fruitsalad
