I can't quite figure out how the genetics work. I can't see the pedigrees and I'm not sure what the % on the genetics bar is for.

% genetics bar? Which one are you referring to?
There's 3 different states of a trait showing up in a slow:
Visible (it shows)
Carried (doesn't show, but the pet has a possibility of passing the trait to the offspring),
and Nothing (nothing at all).
Other than that, it really is simple. It's all punnet-square genetics.
Care to clarify what you're looking at?

Also, "genealogy trees" (pedigrees?) do not show up at the moment. They're still being developed.

If you're talking about the bar right at the top of the genetics box, it indicates the incubation period for egglings, and the fullness of the pet for hatchlings/adolescents/adults. If you put your mouse over the bar, it will tell you "incubation" for egglings, and "hunger" for the rest.
