So, I tried it with Dreayls once, and then just now, I saw a thread for them and I was curious what people's opinions were on them? And when I say cross-bred themeds, I mean like taking a Summer Sunrise Lunemara and breeding it with a Gladiolus Lunemara, or any combination. (Though I did test breed that combo and it made some cool looking pets.)
Anyways, so what do you guys think of them? Like them? Love them? Hate them?
And please tell me why you feel that way.
For science!
(JK, it's just for my own curiosity)

Not sure about other people's opinions, but personally I view cross-breeds the same as a theme bred with a normal pet. It's no longer themed to me and therefore worth the same as a regular pet to me. Some people might like them, but I'm not one of them *shrugs* Anyway, you asked opinions, and that's mine lol.

I guess, but as a themed breeder, I'm pretty particular about my lines being pure and pristine, so cross-breeds go entirely against that for me lol.

I like them if the colors and traits go well together, for example, I have a Sweet Heart Qitari that I like to breed with my Hot Cross Qitari, and the offspring are beautiful, as seen here: http://www.sylestia.com/view/pets/?petid=816823. With that being said, however, I do not think that crossbred offspring have any particular extra value, I just think it can be fun to experiment with and can produce some beautiful pets.

oh my GOSH that is SO beautiful!!! *o*
those colors /softly coos
Anyways, as far as cross-breeding goes:
-I figure that purebreeding is a preference, the same as generating a pair of similarly colored pets just for the sake of having 1 certain-colored offspring. To me, purebreeding a theme (which has an official label given by the system) isn't much different than breeding two neon green colored pets together (just because they're both green and have that in common) or two generated pets with the same colorations and traits (because the future design calls for one set of colors and one set of traits).
-To me, purebreeding is overrated (purely my opinion ;w; ), but still is a thing that is very lucrative in both virtual sites and real life, but who's to say that I/others can sell some tagged pets or pretty pure offspring for some great big money. <3 Some people probably like the tunnel-vision (lack of better term at 2am sorry orz) and challenge to work with a certain gene pool or set of population to create a special sort of pet anyways.
-I haven't personally experimented with it. I'm not really into purebreeding anyways. I have no problem with pets outside a theme breeding with a themed pet (for instance, my Mysterious Love Ryori has fathered a bunch of not-necessarily-purebred offspring!), but I truly value a pet by the combined colors and traits in the end. Lizswordmaid's crossbred Qitari is so beautiful colorwise, but I wouldn't have thought it was a crossbred in the first place. Nor would I have thought some purebred offspring are "purebred" if I didn't know their origins beforehand (like say I totally missed the Fall Festival 2013, and if I came back and saw a "purebred Spooky Ryori", I wouldn't have any idea what a Spooky Ryori is but it's probably cool in its own right from its colors).

Wow, thanks for all the opinions guys!
I'm thinking of starting a thread in the breeding discussion for any cross-bred themeds I might breed, since I do rather like doing it. I only go with ones I think look nice, of course, but I've found there are quite a few that look nice together, like Milk Chocolate Dreayl/Chocolate Egg Dreayl, or Spring Passion Faelora/Lucky Faelora.
Personally I'm a little on the fence about cross-breeding themed pets, notice how the ones I listed are not fabled or particularly popular? Yeah, I do that on purpose, because personally, I wouldn't want to breed say, wheel pets with anything but wheel pets, but I suppose that's just me. I'm very much a pure themed breeder, but I also think cross-breeding has a lot of potential.
Anyways, feel free to continue sharing opinions and I'll probably post the link the the breeding thread when(if) I make it.
