I haven't been on the site in a few months, and I have no idea what I'm doing. I'd like to delete my account, or, if possible, refresh it and basically start over with no pets and an empty inventory.

Is there any way to do this?

No, not at this time.

In the future - probably when we release the new exploration system - we'll probably offer a way to reset your account's story progression.

But at this time, nothing like that is available.

However, with Sylestia, we've tried very hard to make it always acceptable no matter how long it's been. Yes, it will take a bit to get back into how to play and what to do - but there will never be anything like pets dying that some other games do. We even added a feature so if you come back from a long break and your pets are malnourished, Jinxie will revive them all for you for free.

If you really wanted to, I guess you could just sell all of your pets and items to other players, or give someone else your account. As far as I know, you can't completely delete your account.
