I can't seem to win against the three bandits in the fairy grove. I only have two party spaces and don't know how to get a third, it won't let me buy it. Help?

I believe you don't get your 3rd party slot until you clear all of Viridian Meadows.
That being said...your best bet is to strengthen the 2 pets you already have.
I looked at Lunar Sparrow, and his equipment looks outdated. You should get him some lvl15 armor. And also, try to specialize in either Strength or Intelligence.
Do the same with whoever you choose for the 2nd party pet.
Also, make sure that you use up all the proficiency points and level up points. Either in HP or str/int.
