So I have gotten caught in a bug. I went exploring and got into a couple battles. Ended those battles with an unconscious pet, went to go heal up at the healer, and said cannot heal while in battle. When I hovered my mouse over 'Explore', 'Battle' was highlighted. So I went and completed that battle, and tried again to heal. No dice. Was forced to allow both my pets to fall unconscious before being allowed to visit the healer. And when I tried to go exploring again, but this time use potions between battles in order to keep my pets from falling unconscious, I kept getting the same error messages and the out of nowhere battles! And when I say 'Stuck In Battle' it keeps saying that I'm not, when clearly I cannot get out of battle at all.

Is everything fine at this point? I see both your pets full health and you're not in a battle.

Evidently posting here cleared up the problem. XD Right after I posted the problem everything started to behave again. Was a little weird, but not complaining!

Happened to me also a while ago

Been happening again. Is there a system in place where battles happen without our starting them? Cause I repeatedly will end battles and go to do something else, and get sucked into a battle without exploring. Also, I just got yanked back into a battle I just lost after healing my pets up with potions. When I went to finish the healing at a pixie, it said I was in battle. Can't get out of the battle since 'Stuck in Battle' button isn't working at all. So... going to leave it where it is, even if it means I literately can't do half the site things because I'm in 'battle'.

There is a thing called "Chain Battles". Sometimes upon finishing a battle, either the enemies are immediately replaced with more enemies or the battle immediately enters another battle. For the most part, these are scripted occurrences throughout the storyline.

Is this what you're referring to?

For the most part, this has been occurring to me while backtraining. I am primarily not in main story-line areas. Merely exploring in areas that are lower level than where my story is taking place. IE: Exploring the bandit camp when my storyline is at the dungeon or at the life tree. So it shouldn't be the chain battles. I literately will end a battle, and be on the 'Explore the area' page. Instead of exploring, I will head back into town in order to heal or turn in missions and start new ones, or adjust my armor, etc. And instead of being able to do any of those things, I will get the error message about being in battle, and get a random battle with area-appropriate level (but sometimes trait carrying/showing) sylesties and maybe a bandit.

But even that has nothing to do with losing the boss battle in the dungeon, exiting the battle and being able to go heal up from my inventory, but then getting sucked right back into the battle that I shouldn't be stuck in the moment I have conscious pets. I have not touched my pets since I got stuck in that situation. So my party's current situation is what happened immediately after rezz draughting two pets and using healing potions on one of them. I went to the healer and got stuck in a battle. And I can't get out of it. I can't start new missions, I can't heal my pets, I can't do anything unless I allow my pets to be knocked unconscious again... and who's to say I won't get pulled right back into the battle a third time, unless the 'Stuck in battle' button actually starts doing something or this stupid bug gets resolved.

I am sorry if I'm coming across as abrasive, but I am really sick and tired of getting pulled into battles I shouldn't be in, and wasting all my coins on healing my pets when I shouldn't have to. I did not have this problem AT ALL while the festival was going, so its some sort of bug that's cropped up since then.

I'm sorry that I haven't been able to help you yet; I've never encountered a player having such an issue before.

Which browser are you using? I suggest using either Chrome or Firefox. Also, make sure there aren't any browser addons that could be tampering with the site.

Also, sometimes towns can be under siege and during that time, you won't be able to access them. You can see if a town is under siege by seeing a yellow banner at the top of the page on the old layout pages. Is this a possibility?

Lastly, are you using multiple tabs for exploring around? While it may be more convenient to switch tabs rather than reloading pages, it very well may cause issues. When a page loads, it loads certain things pertaining to the current situation on your account and the current situation on the server. If you leave a page idle, explore on another tab, and come back and immediately try to heal, etc - it's possible it can trigger something you didn't intend.

So basically, before you go to heal your pets or use your inventory, etc, make sure that you've reloaded the page. If you're using multiple pages to explore (battle, move around the map), I highly suggest not doing that. Although, I think for the most part the Site won't let you. I'm not sure if that's the case for the original battle system though - been awhile since I've tinkered with it.


Anyway, basically, I've never encountered such an issue before and since I haven't changed anything with exploring in a really, really long time, this situation is either me not fully understanding your issue or something on your end. Hopefully one of the above suggestions helps. If not, please try to figure out specific things you do that triggers the issue and provide as much step by step details as possible so that I can attempt to duplicate the issue.

I use Chrome. I am unaware of any add-ons that may interfere with the site, haven't stumbled over any discussion regarding known add-ons that would interfere with the site, and I don't believe I have any actually attached to Chrome.

At most I use a tab to explore/battle/nurture and one to roam the forums.

I am aware of the siege system, I usually try to access the other town whenever one is under siege, since I can get to two different towns.

The current situation:
I lost the battle with Baeryl and Zephyr. All three of my pets were knocked unconscious.
I skipped through the battle results and entered my inventory in the same tab.
I used a rezz draught on Kermaya and all my healing draughts.
I used a rezz draught on Savah.
I went to go to Esior's Haven and heal up with the healer. There was no siege.
I hit 'heal now' and received a battle error message.
I went to the battle tab, and was back in the battle with Baeryl and Zephyr.

In other situations, where I am at the bandit camp I:
Defeat my opponents, skip through and close battle results.
Go to my inventory/mission log/town, and receive an error message.
I go to the battle tab, which previously to this was not highlighted, to discover myself in a battle with wild sylesties.

Really, my request is that the 'Stuck in Battle' button actually DO something. I hit it, and it says I am not stuck in battle. I reset the dungeon, and am still stuck in this battle that I don't want to fight. This is literately all that happens. I complete a battle, and exit it normally. I use the same tab to go do something else, and am back in a battle again. This should not happen. I have been in a battle where they keep adding enemies. That's where I'm at in the life tree. I know what that messaging looks like. What is happening to me is something entirely different. It doesn't matter how many tabs I have open. Last night I was exploring with just one Sylestia tab open, and nothing else even remotely regarding the site open on my computer. And that's when I got stuck.

Due to wanting to claim a sylestie I won in a game, I allowed my party to be knocked unconscious in the dungeon boss battle. Since then, I have started new missions and progressed in my storyline without further error messages. I am skeptical how long this will last, since I've had it go through an okay period when I first reported this issue. So I am monitoring my own activity and will update you as to when and if this odd situation happens again.
