on the 29th i sold 14 pet dyes(much to my joy) but yesterday 13 remaining( i gathered a lot from the fall festival...) pet dyes disappeared. i thought i had sold em or something and was willing to let it go but today i got a pet dye from the wheel. It also disappeared.

I don't know whats going on but before that single pet dye disappeared i tried to use it on a pet i recieved(http://www.sylestia.com/view/pets/?petid=860511 this one if it's relevant. I was going to change the mist) and forgot i was in a battle. I finished that battle but wandered off to do something and forgot to use the dye. I remembered..about an hour ago? and tried to use it and...no pet dye.


If this is NOT a glitch of some sort i would REALLY like to know where my dyes went please. 14 of ANYTHING should not be disappearing for(apparently) no reason.. @_@;;; ....

If you did accidently sell them, there should be a record. Go to the broker and look at your transaction log. It will tell you the quantities of stackable items you sold. If you didn't then:

Were you online during the time they disappeared? If yes, did the Sylestia at any time during this period log you out?

If the answer to the first no, or to the second is yes, I would suggest you go change your password; it's possible someone else may be logging into your account and making changes.

Otherwise, it may be a bug.

Unfortunately, the current inventory is pretty bad in regards to tracking items. All I'm able to see atm is that you have 1 pet dye sitting in your inventory.

I also see that you did sell 14 of them recently.

As to where the 13 are, I can't find a trace of them. But like I said, the inventory doesn't track much so it's hard to figure out. It's one of the things that I will focus on with the new inventory.

If you're positive that 13 pet dyes disappeared and you can't find them, then I can reimburse you.

I'm quite certain the 13 went missing(and of course it's 13 *eyeroll*) yes but something strange also happened with the 1. It wasn't being shown as being currently listed but then this morning i got an alert it sold..I do appear to have gotten the gold associated with that sale however.

i don't normally sell in stacks(as it tends to crashes the price -so that was a one time thing) and theres no reason for a trade...so i should still have the 13.

I WAS online when they disappeared and i WAS logged out but i can't recall when that was as i get logged out occasionally due to stuff being changed(downtime for example). but i've changed my password so we'll see what happens...though if they WERE stolen it makes me wonder why the heck i'm not missing gold. i have quite a bit i'm saving for the pet auctions. but no they take a stack of pet dyes?

They weren't stolen. I can check to see if an item was stacked, sold, consumed, traded, or brokered. I couldn't find a stack of 13 with any of the above.

The issue is though, I can't see individual items consumed. Like, if you had a stack of 13 and then used them all down to a stack of 2 - I wouldn't be able to track that... I'd just see the end result stack of 2.

In the future, I'll track each and every action that's taken with items. This will not only be beneficial data for us, but also to insure I can figure out what happens in situations like these.

Anyway though, I'll send you 13 Lesser Pet Dyes.

That sounds wonderful, and maybe a suggestion? i would post in the suggestion forum(and i will if you want it recorded in an easy to find again way)but as this directly relates to this situation.. what about when you fix/overhaul the inventory code you set a pin/password code if an item such as a pet dye,token,etc. is used/sold/exchanged or whatever?

That way you can be absolutely certain the database,for whatever reason, ate it. in a more likely scenario (no this didn't happen here. i could see it happening SO easy though..childish revenge for something?) it would stop a 'friend' or bratty sibling from catching a random pet(and wasting all your traps in the process
of course) then wasting all your pet dyes on it and releasing the pet.


Anyway received the dyes and i have 10 left as i immediately went and dyed that ryori's mist(like i had wanted to when i discovered this....) I moved them to the bottom of that tab and they haven't disappeared yet but i'll eyeball them every time i go to my inventory and make sure they stay put.

That's a hard line to define sometimes. You want the game to be easily played without the annoyance of a million security checks, but want things secure enough so that nothing is infiltrated. It's a very tough line to figure out.

I'll keep such features in mind for the future, but I won't want to make anything too cumbersome to use nor spend time creating features that very few players will actually use.

Well it's been almost a full week and these pet dyes haven't disappeared again. I've also recieved more since then and THOSE haven't disappeared. I still don't know what happened to the original 13 but the problem DOES seem to not be happening again. case closed i suppose .


Just in case i'm keeping my pet dyes on my first tab so i can keep an eye on them longer, if they DO disappear again maybe i can remember what i did that day. thank you for your help!
