It'd be kinda cool to start a support-thread of people on Sylestia trying to lose weight, or just live a healthier lifestyle! I find it's much easier when you have friends checking in on you. xP
I think it's Lilac posted it on tumblr, but I think it'd be cool to do it over Sylestia. c:
Right now I'm using Lose It! to track (though I just started today, but MyFitnessPal is also a fantastic tracker!) and my goal is 130 by the beginning of July!
How about you guys?

I like this idea, it's always helps to have some support!
I've started a work out/revamp my life goal this year. It includes loosing some weight and living a healthier lifestyle, which I need since my job requires me to sit in front of a computer most of the day! I don't have a very specific weight goal so much as I just aim for being fit. My current routine is to hit the gym 3 days a week, Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, and when the weather starts getting nicer I'll bike to school on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
For healthy living, I've started the year by forcing myself to eat as a proper vegetarian for one month. I know that vegetarians can eat just as unhealthy as non vegetarians, but it was really as huge success. I've added several veggie and fruit laden meals to my diet.
Aha I know it's kind of dorky, but they way I keep myself sticking to my goal is stickers! I have a sticker for eating healthy, a sticker for going to the gym, and a sticker for self improvement. Each time I do one of those things I stick it on my calendar, and then at the end of the month it's a great feeling to look at it and see just how much I accomplished. That way, even when I feel like I'm getting no where I have that to reassure myself!
So what kind of routines are you doing to reach your goal? It's very helpful to have a solid plan! I'm you can reach your goal, just keep at it and work hard! Are you going to do strictly cardio or do you plan on lifting some as well. It's not quick as efficient for direct weight loss, but doing both definitely help to create an overall more fit body.
Oh hey, you should check out The Berry's daily motivation too! They post it early in the morning each day, and it's just a nice reminder to keep at it and that your work will pay off! http://theberry.com/category/daily-motivation/

What kind of veggies do you eat? I tried this once but I got really weak in just 3 days. DX

A whole variety, I was always told to try and eat a little bit of all different colors. I ate a LOT of nuts during that month, and I also soy/almond milk (lactose makes me sick, but almond milk is delicious!) I had lots of broccoli, carrots, green beans, and dark greens. Also, I had eggs almost every other day. I've come to love poached eggs and spinach. I did buy one pack of veggie dogs during the month, just to satisfy my craving. Finally, a great source for healthy, vegetarian fat is avocado! You can eat it on anything, pasta, salad, sandwiches, eggs. Avocado is a great way to get some healthy fat into your diet that tastes great with any meal.
Also, my snacks were always either nuts, fruit, or carrots. I used to snack on nothing but chips and stuff, so I really reoriented my munchies.
Pinterest was a big help for that month. Anytime I was craving something with meat and I'd pop on pinterest and look up vegetarian recipes. I'd find so much great looking veggie dishes that I just had to try them!
I'm still using pinterest to spark some ideas when I'm craving something unhealthy. Last week I kept wanting to make some fried eggplant, and I finally went on pinterest and found a great healthy version for baked eggplant.

Wow, this is great! *facepalms* OH GOSH I forgot about avocado and milk entirely! I suppose I really didn't get much fat and protein when I tried this kind of diet... No wonder I looked awful and weak on my first try...
I'm gonna stock up some 5 days worth of veggies and fruits later and try this for 5 days! Hope this works! *cross fingers* Thank you for your advice! OuO

My family is trying to get healthier as well. One thing I found that I though was great is a carb-less sandwich (not that I am cutting out carbs). You cut open a cucumber and hollow out the seeds, leaving some meat in side of it. Trim the outside if you want (the skin is tough for some people to chew) and then put tuna salad, or egg salad on the inside. That way you can enjoy your favorite sandwiches (often high point/calorie ones) while not ruining your diet! Big plus is that it has cucumber, one of my faves.

Wow Ash a lot of those sound like great ideas, especially the stickers!
Right now I'm just trying to bike ride at least an hour per day (which is basically to my apartment to play with my cat and brush him then back to my bf's/work) and switch my diet to have lots of fruits and veggies. c:
It's kind of hard since my bf's family doesn't like veggies, so yesterday I took my bike to the store to buy some so today and yesterday the only real junk food I had was a girl scout cookie. xD
I figured if I at least started small, I could stick with it since I tend to fall out of good habits around the month or so out. So if I can do it for the month, then I plan on starting to add TurboFire to my daily routine. I did that about a year ago and dropped about 15 pounds in two months! Which was awesome so I'm sure once I get used to being more active sticking with it will be a breeze. c:
Bookmarking that site! Thanks for the link!
Have any tips for alternatives to avacado? I've been so veggie deprived an all or nearly all veggie diet sounds fantastic right now.
@Kaela I actually might have to try tuna and cucumber for lunch, that sounds great!

Wow...This is a great thread!
I, as a rule, am A straight-Forword vegitarian. No fish, No Meat, Eggs on ocassion, and plenty of milk! (Milk technically isn't killing anybody with a spirit, since Cows and Goats enjoy being milked, so...Lotta Milk for Chidori-san!)
I've been trying to get back into a healthier life style, as all the insane amount of school work has been driving me nuts and towards the junk-food more than usual. *sigh*
I do have a job at a stables, but because I'm the only one who can work with codes and stuff, and we've been remodeling the web site, so I've been behind the desk most of the time instead of out with the horses.
Since I'm very animal-obsessed, I've decided to work them into my work out as much as possible.
I do Riding twice a week for about an hour, and then there's maybe one or two hours of me mucking out stalls and grooming.
Then, If I wake up early enough I walk/jog throughout the neighborhood. A great way to wake up, as long as its not snowing, lol.
Then when I'm doing homework, when I start feeling stressed and freaked out, I get up, grab an energy bar, (And slip my fat cat some treats while I'm at it. XD) and go borrow the neighbors dog for a few rounds of fetch and stuff.
We've got a Wii, too, so I use that to my advantage as much as possible.
I've never felt so good! What with all that's going on in my life right now, Healthy living is really improving my life!

@Ruinia: Oooh good luck! And you're right, fats and proteins are essential to a healthy diet, but luckily there are a good number of easy ways to get them.
@Kaela: That sounds really tasty, and I bet with the cucumber it has a really nice crunch to it. Definitely something to try out. Something along the same lines would be like an eggplant pizza! You get the normal pizza fixings, but instead of using dough you use eggplant slices (it also works really well with portobella caps, but those can be pricey).
@Vella: omg biking is so great! It hardly even feels like exercise, because it's so fun to do! It stinks that no one there eats veggies with you, but at least on the bright side that means more for you! (quickly googling turbo fire aha). So is turbofire a cardio routine? A name like that sounds intense! Also avocado subs hmmm. Well if you're looking for other healthy fats like avocado then nuts and tofu would be a good place to start. Hummus would also be a good one, it's a healthy fat and it can used as a creamy spread like avocado can. And you can go for the x2 points with carrots/other veggies dipped in hummus.

Woo yay Weight-loss buddies. >w<
My "program" is mostly consisting of weening myself off junk food and generally mixing my diet up. I am a notorious noodle addict, cheese and sour creame being my favorite topping... So adding meat and vegetables here and there. Fruit has never been an issue though!
Along side that I am (trying) to do the Insanity Fitness Program. Can I just say "OWWW!" I finished my fitness test today and walked around for about 2 hours because I wasn't sure I would be able to get back up if I let myself sit down. 10 hours later and I am still waddling... and the real work out starts tomorrow!
It focuses very heavy on legs and abdomen muscles to keep yourself going.
Like Vella I am using Lose it! If anyone wants to add me there so we can keep eachother motivated for tracking, message me and I'll give you my email to look me up. :3
