Are you sure you set it up correctly? Where it says "Sell to user" you have to put the persons ID number not their username.....if you did it wrong then anyone can buy the pet and I'm afraid that you can not get it back. :(

You're still pretty new to the site so I'm sure she will understand. Accidents happen....plus there are still plenty out there in the festival zone that you could catch (if you're lucky you might get another one before she gets back online). :)

Another thing you could do would be to message the person who bought your Chocolate Paws, explain the situation to them, and see if they will be nice enough to sell it back to you.

That may not be a good idea as it can be construed as harassment or begging, both of which are against the ToS. If the person who bought it happens to see this thread and is kind enough to return the Lupora to you, they're doing it as a favor and are under no obligation to do so.

I think it just depends on how someone asks......I think it would be harmless if they just sent a message saying something like "Hello, I know you just bought this pet from me, but I'm new and I accidentally put it up for sale. Would you sell it back to me for a price of your choosing? If not that's okay. :) "

Now messaging them and saying something like "Hey I didn't mean to sell that! Give it back!" would be harassment and 100% not okay.

As long as it is just one message that does not guilt the person into giving it back or make them feel obligated to return it then it shouldn't be a problem. The person could just say that they want to keep it and that would be the end of it.

Perhaps, perhaps not. The thing is, how the message is worded is irrelevant if the person who is messaged takes offense and reports it. Subjectively no, a nicely worded message is not truly harassment, but objectively it is still against the ToS on a practical level. Would I take offense if I got such a message? No, accidents happen. I've been known to actively track down owners and return obviously lost pets on another site. But not everyone feels that way, hence why most sites have such rules in place.

ETA: Glad to hear it worked out for you. :)

It's really hard to imagine someone getting offended over something as silly as that, but you are right....it does happen. Unfortunately some people get offended very easily. But I'm glad it didn't happen this time and that everything worked out. :)
