I haven't been on here terribly long, but I've already noticed how hard it is to both sell a pet or find one to breed with your own pets. Not to mention that you spend a lot breeding, and when you attempt to sell the offspring, the average price is just 1G.
I'd like to suggest a special selling platform. Maybe an auction area where people can bid on sylesties and/or a set price sale place. The only thing is, you'll need to set a minimum sale price. Maybe 200G or something minimum. That way people actually have a chance to recoup breeding costs.
A breeding platform or area where you could have a look at all the Sylesties that offer breeding (and, of course, a few filtering options), and again you may want to look into a minimum cost for breeding as well. Maybe 50G.
The problem with Sylestia is that everything is easily gotten which takes away the challenge, it's like an over-inflated economy where gold, the breed of Sylesties, and traits/mutations don't have any value. Certain rules must be set in order to give an element of challenge and to reward individuals who have seniority on the site in order to keep them coming back, so you don't wind up with a bunch of dead accounts.
I love the designs, and how genes and mutations allow for even more creative creatures. The site is gorgeous, and game-play/battles are well designed, however there needs to be a bit more thought into other aspects of the site. |

The more new and popular genes / mutations / species are, the more easily they'll sell as long as the price is right. It's really easy to find pets to breed with because of the pet search. You don't have to spend a lot breeding, there's plenty up for cheap breeding fees. No one's forcing you to spend on breeding, you can breed within your own stable. Offspring prices really depend on the GP, colors, etc. There's a lot up for 1g because people don't have enough stable space, the result wasn't what they wanted, the color mix isn't nice, they would rather sell for 1g than releasing, etc. Sale prices will probably go up once the hatchery's been redone. There will be limited hatchery space, so there won't be as many pets just sitting in hatcheries for 1g. It's listed here in the list of features under development.

Do you mean an automated auction area? We already have a forum section where people can sell and auction pets, or people can easily look up pets to buy / breed in the pet search. People should be able to set their own sale prices. It's less likely that something unpopular will sell if it's 200g over 1g. Breeding costs really aren't that high, unless it has a lot of GP, is a popular project pet, etc.

We already have this as the pet search. Just change the option by breeding to yes. There are also filters in the search already. There shouldn't be a minimum breeding fee. Free breedings would be impossible with this. Or some people might just want to give out free breedings. Also, in the past we've had breeding contests with a specified pet. If there was a minimum breeding cost, people would have to pay every time to enter, when it's supposed to be a free (well, almost free. 1g is almost nothing though) contest.

Not everything is easily gotten. Event and wheel pets aren't easily gotten. Named drops aren't that easily gotten. 6 vis pets aren't that easily gotten. Mystical equips aren't that easily gotten. Compared to other sites, the economy isn't really all that over-inflated. The value of gold will of course go down over time as new users join and more gold is on the site. The only time breeds are inflated are when they're extremely popular or new. Even fabled breeds aren't that expensive. Only newer genes and mutations are inflated, since they're highly desired and not that many people have them at the time. There are already certain things set for challenge and reward. At first, dungeons will be challenging. The same for bosses. But over time, they get easier as you get more experienced with it and your pets level up. I definitely don't support rewarding seniority any more than the advantages there are now. As a senior member of the site, I feel that the advantages are already great enough. We have older items that newer players won't be able to get so easily, old event currencies saved, more currency saved, etc. Senior players are less likely to leave the site than newer members because they have already put a lot of time into their account and the site.

The site is still in beta, and there are things still being worked on. It isn't a complete site yet, so not all aspects are there. |
