Gael sat on a rock brushing her long dark hair with a shell. Her long golden cloth that wasn't tied up flew around in the wind. She sat back and sang a short tune. She then sighed as she picked up her small pot of crushed shell dyed blue and gently decorated around her eyes.
Her eyes shut as she dabbed it on. "Wish a ship would come by...maybe I can talk to some of the crew..." she muttered as she finished putting on the make-up.

Pearl swam over to a large clam and stroked the top of it. "Please open up...that pearlmust be very big by now and irritating..." she said in a whisper. "Just...open...up..."
The clam opened up a crack and then opened fully. Pearl smiled and took out theround object. "It's very pretty..." she said as the clam closed up again.

The ocean was calm and the currents moving at the perfect pace. Teris didn't need to lift a fin to really move as he let the current carry him. The blonde merman was just enjoying the day, having just recently sol a human keepsake box to a customer, he now had a bit of extra money for free spending- another reason he was in such a goo mood. A flash of blue caught his attention and he stopped, hovering lightly in the water. He notice a young mermaid near a clam as she seemed to be speaking to it. He watched curiously as she pulled a fresh pearl from the creature. Perhaps she was a farmer? It was rather interesting how she coaxed the creature to give up the treasure so easily. If he could do that he'd be rich! Teris slowly swam towards her and called out a greeting. "Hello!" he purred with a friendly smile. "I couldn't help but notice how you harvested the pearl. How did you do that?"

Pearl jumped at hearing a voice and quickly swam behind the clam. She then poked her head out and noticed a merman watching her. "U...um..." she said in a half-whisper. "I...Im...n-nice...to...i-it..." she stuttered out, feelingvery nervous about being near a merman who had made her jump. She knew she shouldn't be so shy but she found it hard not to be. Pearl clutched the pearl to her chest as her brown hair seemed to wrap around it. "W-hy are you...a-asking? " she asked, slightly curious to know why the merman had taken interest to her gettngthe pearl without hurting or killing te clam...

Teris blinked once, slowly, watching Pearl with curiosity. She seemed very skittish and shy so he figured he'd keep his distance so not to make her uncomfortable. "Oh no real reason," he spoke with a soft shrug, his arms behind his back and his body relaxed in a pleasant manner. He really wasn't strong enough to pry open a clam to get the pearls inside and he was too soft-hearted t kill the creature to get the prize. "You from around here?" he asked. "I just swam in on the current. I haven't spent a lot of times in these waters yet. My name's Teris, by the way, and I'm a traveling merchant." Perhaps a friendly conversation and pleasant greeting would help clam this mermaid's nervousness.

Pearl nodded slowly. Traveling merchant...? She had a rougb idea that he might actually want to pearls to sell...bt she could be wrong..."I-Im...P-Pearl..." she said to him after a pause. "The pearl...farmer...andp -pearl merchant...and...I...gr-grew up here..."
Her blue tail flicked as she talked. Being nervous makes her tail flick...which wasn't great...
Her hands loosened ever so slightly on the pearl as she relaxed slightly.

((*coughs* hopw you dont mind me talking to Gael...))

"Captain?"
"Yes, Alex?" A kindly voice asked, and the speaker placed his hands on his knees as he leaned forwards. "What is it?"
"There's a mermaid sitting upon that rock yonder. Some of the crewmates were asking if we are allowed to pass by it, if only to chat with her."
Genovious closed his eyes, deep in thought. "Very well." Came the answer a few moments later. Since mermaids in this area were relatively harmless, Genovious felt no need to be as cautious as usual. "Lazrius?"
The man at the wheel shifted his eyes briefly to his captain, before returning his gaze upon the sea waves. "Yes, Captain. What is it?" With a nod the captain strode up to his crew mate, and spoke to him before returning to his brother.
"Lazrius will try to pass by the rock, alright, Alex?"
The younger male nodded, fave still devoid of emotions as always, and walked off, ready to tell the soldiers who kept pestering him the good news. At least now he would get his peace and quiet... relatively.

Gael brushed her hair a bit more with the shell before she noticed a ship. She smiled and looked at the ship. Huh...once again a ship...mostly crowded with men...she thoght with a slight sad tone.
Gael put the shell down and brushed some hair back from her face and watched the ship. Would it pass her way? She wondered. Also would the people be nice? She hoped they weren't people coming to chop off her fins...or...abuse her...but those thoughts where quickly pushed aside with happy ones.

((Hope you don't mind some of my own mermaids will come in...?)

Dreadnought stayed on course, and drew close to the rock on which the mermaid sat on. Genovious eyed her as he remembered some of his mermaid friends, and the crew of pirates that were their rivals. "Huh. Surprisingly, I think of Maelstrom when I see her." He said to no one in particular, but Soritius heard it, and walked over to his brother.
"I do not see why that is surprising. If one was to be reminded of those mermaid... Idols, it is understandable to think of those pirates." The younger male said, gripping his map and the book of strategies he had with him.
"True..." Genovious muttered, before walking over to the starboard of the ship, and leaning over it slightly. "Good morning, my lady. What's a mermaid like you doing here?" He ignored the stares of some of his fellow ship mates, since they already knew he was not like the other usual captains.

The Drive Quartet and the Iyume sisters swam through the ocean, having been separated from their group for a short bit. "Uh oh! Where were we supposed to meet again?" Sheena, the blond twin asked worriedly.
"Hmm. They did mention going to find either the military or the pirates..." Resca noted, remembering Dreadnought and Mealstrom, whose crews called themselves part of 'Aqua Force' and 'Granblue' respectively.
"Hm... Well That seems like Dreadnought in the far distance... Shall we ask them is our sisters have passed this way?" Beatrice asked, as each mermaid of the Bermunda group considered each other as sisters, no matter if they were or weren't biologically related.
"Alright!" The other five chorused, as they began swimming in the ship's direction.

Teris could see how nervous Pearl still was but at least she didn't flee from him. He wondered if all merpeople around here were that skittish. He had heard that pirates were becoming more numerous around these parts. He had yet to encounter one but from the stories he heard he pictured them as dirty, smelly humans with unkempt facial hair and wooden legs with annoying feathered animals on their shoulders. Teris figured he' be more disgusted then skittish if he came across one. "Do you know of any place I can sell my wares?" he asked. "Or perhaps a sunken ship I could search?"
