I am trying to release pets into the wild and it just keeps telling me I need to type their names to release them. I keep typing their names and its the same message over and over again.

There must be a " " (space) in front or at the end of the name. So if it's name is "Butters", try typing " Butters" or "Butters ".
Alternatively, you can highlight its name on its profile to see where the space is.
