I was looking through the Themed Pet Codex to see which themed I had for my collection.
Unfortunately, for both tagged and purebred, if I click the "Owned: Only" dropdown menu, it shows tagged and/or purebred that I have had in the past (but no longer own). However, it will still say "Status: owned" in the codex!
When I was playing around with advanced search to try and find out why, it highlighted that for the extra themed (that I noticed at least), I had released them in the past.
So even though they were released, the themed pet codex said they were still owned.

Although it may not be what you're looking for, this is working as intended. A pet, even released, is still considered under your ownership as you can just reclaim it back into your possession.
The only solution would be to add a toggle for players to exclude/include released pets, but that's not provided at this time.

Ah, good to know. I didn't realise that about released pets! I kinda viewed them as "gone". xD
I hope someday an include/exclude toggle for released pets (like in advanced search) gets put in! It would be very helpful!!
However, I do understand that sometimes things that look like very simple tweaks can be surprisingly difficult on the back end. I just hope that's not the case here (and that it can get added someday)!
