I come and go from this game a couple times a year, lol, so I still consider myself new since I never really got into the mechanics of the game. but Im just wanting to start breeding now and would like up to date resources, if possible. Thank you!

It's still perfectly good, especially reading the basic section on carried, visible, and hidden traits if you don'y know those. There are only a couple of things I can think of that it doesn't cover you may be interested in learning for breeding:
- some of the items for putting restricted traits on pets, which are relevant for breeding projects that use those
- breeding 'super stats' with the secondary base stats inherited from pets captured in the lost grove

Putting restricted traits onto things other than themes that come with them, and stat breeding in general, are things I'd recommend considering after getting a grasp of breeding basics.
