Your starter pet is super cute.

It's an especially busy time here at the moment with the festival, which is probably a lot for being a new player. Festivals are the main source of avatar items and special pets called 'themes' with specific colour palettes. I don't really know how doing the festival exploration zone would go as a new player, but trick or treat and the daily task for nurturing are very easy to do. Putting festival items you don't want on the trade broker might also be a way to make some gold.

Some of the standard tips:
- sending pets on missions is a great source of gold
- pets will heal over time, so paying for healing with npcs is generally not worth it
- getting extra party slots will help a lot with battles early on
- to give someone a notification on the forums (like you would have gotten for this), use the '@' button on one of their messages, or type their username in the 'ping user' box when writing a message.

It's definitely a little confusing but I'm starting to slowly understand more and more I think.

Also, are festivals the only way to get outfits for my avatar?? I am confused by them but I really want to get new clothes, and the ones on the trade broker are quite expensive ... Is there another way to earn them or buy them? Also besides sending pets on missions like you advised, is there other ways of earning gold?

Festivals are the most plentiful source of avatar items, but there are a fair few items available from non-festival stuff as rare drops from enemies, sold in some of the towns, or craftable in the late game combat zone.
There's a few I have on the broker that I suspect I'll have trouble selling, so I'll send you a few.

Welcome!!! As someone whose been here for 10+ years if you need anything or have any questions please let me know Im a little late responding do to irl things. If you have an interest in any of my pets feel free to ask currently Im slowly revamping all my stables and things for the revamp in the future and am weeding out things big time. Im also getting back into digital art and story telling so if any of those things interest you Im here! Also if you want when I do festivals (Ill be back again for winter fest) I tend to gift a I items and things to newbies so if you have interest in particular aprecies or items do tell! Also if you want any pets of mine that Im planning on keeping I can always breed them and give you a baby if you find a pair you really like.

Also speaking of avi items and fests the winter fest has a stocking stuffer even so some of us older players that are still around tend to load newbies down with avi items and gifts so thats a fun fest to prepare for.
