I've been wanting to get cute clothes for my avatar but I cant find anything for it anywhere, other than the trade broker but its expensive. Am I missing something?

avatar outfits and the like can be obtained in a few ways.
There are some pieces that can be obtained from battles against non-sylesti enemies in regular zones as random drops

Some pieces can be bought from the towns if you have high enough reputation

Sometimes during events (not seasonal fest events, but things like easter, or when a revamp of a species is released or the like) there will be some available from the diamond shop

The Avatar Shop has stuff you can buy if you get some Avatar Tokens (typically a prize for winners of official forum games), stuff available for diamonds, and rarely for gold (at the moment it only has gnarled vines in there for 2m. This is because of Silly In-jokes)

Most pieces are obtained from seasonal festivals, dropping from bosses, buyable from the festival shop, obtained from Retired Avatar Item crates*, or from fest activities

There's plenty on the trade broker, definitely not all expensive (though I suppose range of what counts as 'expensive' varies by person.). It'll also start getting a lot of stuff during fall fest (due to start in about two weeks) as people start getting doubles of stuff they already have

(* retired avatar item crates are sorted under 'miscellaneous' in the broker, by the by, for whatever reason)

Oh okay, so I mostly have to wait for events, and through battle is there like a certain stage where they can start dropping? Or are they just really rare? Also thanks for the items you sent me, I've already put one to use :D

just depends on the enemies. Different non-sylesti enemy types have different avatar items they can drop. Pretty sure they all have some exceeeept maybe the trolls?

(oh, also there are one or two that are obtained as plot progress quest rewards I think? not many though)
