Recently I unlocked the lost grove and I had so much trouble with it

Almost any boss/slightly harder enemy takes me so long to kill if I even manage to. I know my pets are pretty under-leveled due to the fact I switched by Main party pets early on, but still the enemies are a bit over my pet's level but still reasonable (Like, 64 to 65-68), but yet it's like any level after 65 is just a giant slump over level 64 or below.

It's not like I have bad gear either, by gear is great its just why are the enemies so hard? And the lost grove version of stuff like MY LORD why is it so expensive!? 30k blown on only 9 healing potions. 9. (maybe more or less, I haven't bought it in a while.) Also I haven't found really any Pets or syslesti (Whatever you call them) In the lost grove at all, because I either run into those stupid tree things or like a mage or something. Is there a reason for that?

What I do in battle is I just spam whatever attacks are open until the enemy dies. (Been doing that since I started playing really.) Is that wrong? Do I actually have to think while attacking? If you have any battle strategies please let me know cause that would be very helpful. Also, another totally off topic question, how do you know if a pet is themed? Like, will it have a name on it or something? I haven't tamed any theme pets and I feel like the reason why is that I'm skipping over them.

These are the pet's I use;

1. sylesti encounters become more common as you progress through the earlier stages of the lg. You're basically clearing out enemies allowing sylesti numbers to recover, if you want to think of it like that.
(However, most lg sylesti are about the same strength as regular non-lg wild pets (base stats are the exact same as the non-lg ones, it's +stats that make the difference in strength, and commons have no + stats and uncommons only have ~+4)

2. what is your barracks progression like?
LG traps and healing items can be bought from the barracks Trading post once you have that built, but you can also trade broken traps and empty bottles for them

3. while LG gear is better than non-lg stuff, your party does have mostly the lowest tier of it (aside from Filianami Artemis's bracers). LG gear also has both the regular rarity tier stat increase and the +tier increase for individual pieces (though generally you shouldn't bother with upgrading a piece unless it's stoneweave or primordial rarity)

4. Tanzanite and Filianami Artemis are fairly low stat- this doesn't make overmuch difference for most stats, but HP does its level bonus scaling exponentially, calculated partly with the pet's base hp, rather than having a flat increase of +1 point per level.
Level grinding lvs60-65 can be rough. Fest Zones are probably the easiest place to grind since they match your highest party level
Maws of Madness can help a bit while it's available, since that also gives attack rank exp.
The top section of the grove (screens north of the river- the top row and the dip down where the druids are) only has 1-enemy mobs, which is easier to handle, and you can more easily exit the lost grove so you can heal your pets with non-lg items there.
Battles get easier as you gain attack ranks. Attacks gain exp for every use of the attack, and all attacks get some per win (amount per win varies based on the enemy 'tier'- regular enemy (bandits, sprites, sylesti), elite, boss, enemy level)

5. there are strategies for certain types of lg enemy, namely with which types of nightfall bandit in a group should be taken out first, and for elites/bosses

6. LG themes are very, very, very rare to encounter.
When you encounter a themed pet, it will say in the log before entering battle that you encountered a "Rare Enemy" (if you have the infinite genetic scanner, note that you get a similar but different message when encountering a mob where a sylesti has an lg restricted trait's genetics)
Themed sylesti will have "[theme name] [species]" rather than "Wild [species]", and they will always be rare rarity or higher. (I will note that in the LG themes can appear with other, unthemed, sylesti, not always alone like fest zone wild themes are)

that's what I can think of off of the top of my head, and I have to go soon, so I'll stop there

My Barrack progression is still at the start, I've barely collected any Barrack items as of now since I only started playing on LG a few days ago.

Overall, thanks for the info! (I had no idea Attack Ranks even existed, I though your damage just really was just the gear you were wearing and how much points you had in the elemental thing)

yeah, the way the attack ranks affect each attack varies by individual attack and what rank it is. Each rank upgrades the attack in usually one way, but sometimes two or more (just the lv75 moves that are in that 'more' category though)
eg,
Water's Bolt starts off
- generates 10 mana
- hits 1 enemy
- deals 150% physical damage*
- has a 50% chance of grant Frost
- Frost lasts for 3 turns
- Frost absorbs 50% physical damage

(*when attacks use "Physical/Magical Damage" in the attack description it is referring to calculations based on the pets' Physical or Magical Damage Stat)

up to rank 5 when it:
- generates 15 mana (r4)
- hits 1 enemy
- deals 200% physical damage (r2)
- guaranteed to grant Frost (r5)
- Frost lasts for 3 turns
- Frost absorbs 100% physical damage (r3)
